  • Hi Hugh - I've been to Arnside quite a few times and never seen the bore. I'll check the tide times next time. Great video of the 8F as well with a lovely glint on the return leg. Hope we can see the Duke soon. Chris

    As I mentioned in the text, the video cant do full justice to the whole event.

    Just before the tidal bore appeared, a loud siren sounded to warm anybody walking the sands to beware. At first the sound of the water was soft but soon it became almost a roar as it filled the whole mile wide bay. It provided a spectacular backdrop to the train.
