Plus, the AL goes by the Gate not tickets sold as the NL does. The 137 people who did not show up for game 2, were tickets purchased by brokers that were charging upwards of $20,000 for a ticket. I don't care how loyal a fanbase any team has, $20,000 is a lot of money.

this has to be the best story this baseball season...not jumpin on a bandwagon b/c i was like its only a matter of time until they make a run...I knew that this team can't be down in a cellar forever..took 10 yrs but its finally showing dividends..but I'm not goin to say they have it yet. Sox are just 5 back as of 2day and yeah does damn yankees are 12..but they might pull some 1978 shit. However if they lose 2 out of 3 to the Rays this week, they are done.

Small market teams like ours and yours should support each other (except when playing each other). The Rays did not choke like you predicted. They won the toughest division in MLB and that means they aren't a fluke either like you say. I don't know if the Rays are for real or not,none of us do yet. It is nice to see them playing well at home and thats why they are in 2nd place at the break.( but they gotta win on the road) I'm sure there are many fans who have jumped on the old bandwagon this season but whats wrong with that? I grew up in Boston in the 70's and I could get tickets for anygame...winning brings more fans. I love the Sox but I respect and admire the way the rays have hung in and built a good young team.

The "Twins" began playing in 1961 and had a winning record in 2 of their first 3 seasons.
