this is wonderful thank you for this gift :) I am wondering about the interview extract and the reading at the end of don't go back to sleep..would you be able to tell us where they are from , what album ? I have two of CB reading Rumi but don't recognise this track on them...thank you again !
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! The Coleman Barks piece comes from a PBS Bill Moyers series that was done over 15 years ago called The Language of Life. The final part is from an album called Vision II by Graeme Revell
I just adore Rumi and this one in particular. One does not need to belong to an organised religion or be in a physical building of worship to feel the wonder of God, Love, The Universe, The Beloved (call it what you will). Its inside of us, and all around us and in every moment. For me Rumi's words make me feel whole, complete, like I have come home and I belong. Beautiful Post.
Sleep - And your soul fly's, fantasy is stimulated, dreams are created - 8 hours later, your back and though you can't remember what happened, you are re-charged and have a lust for life and a desire to fullfill your dreams which were created right then and there.. ! Who knows.. Very cool and inspiring video.. !
@2010SecondsAway ~~~ Beautifully said...and very true...creates such a passion for life! :) sleep is the most exciting adventure of our colorful mind...spirit flying over the earth ....~~~when the symbols of mystery meet us in our dreams....
Recently, I was caught in a nightmare. I said outloud, "God will take care of this!" And then my friend in the dream and I were rushing and she kept saying, "Where are we going?" And we went down and down and down through door after door until we reached a waterslide and we rode it down until we splashed into the ocean that was full of bubbles like seltzer water. And then we rose up laughing in pure love and I woke up. God will take care of this.
FYI. The reading by Coleman Barks and the interview in this vid come from the 1995 PBS series:"The Language of Life: A Festival of Poets." By Bill Moyers. A search on youtube/google will produce more episodes and readings from this great series.

As long as you don't come by Muhammad (PBUH) first, you won't reach us."

I am the dust on the path of Muhammad (PBUH), the Chosen One.
If anyone quotes anything except this from my sayings,
I am quit of him and outraged by these words"
