It so beautifully paints a picture of what this song is about. The fact that he can go through something like that and write a song like this in a way that's not crybaby and depressing (like "How to Save a Life") but in a way that shows getting through it and PUSHING PAST IT. The first verse and chorus are from his friends perspective before he killed himself. The second verse is Tims POV, and the third is when his friend kills himself.

I'm checking out RA for the first time, as a friend of mine is pretty stoked on their new album. So far I'm not really liking their new or old stuff. Feels pretty conventional in terms of song structure, vocal style, and instrumentation. They do bring a great energy though. Seems like a great band for singles or EPs, but they are a bit to limited in range for LPs.

@0BlackGoldRay0 i think appeal to reason actually had a lot of energy and good songwriting, it was just different from their other stuff. i really disliked endgame though.

Rise Against just got a different sound and started singing more and screaming less. How could you call Rise Against mainstream? They are so much different than any other mainstream band around. All that mainstream shit sounds exactly the same but just with different names and band members. NOTHING those bands play could EVER match anything Rise Against does.

@caseywerwolf because they think that if its underground than it makes it sound cooler bu tthey are mainstream they play them on the radio and on fuse and, mtv all the time an underground band means that you get no radio time and no tv time

@caseywerwolf youre right, some people hate it because of the fact that its mainstream (which is retarded), but there is a reason why some dont like most mainstream music. its because mainstream music is tailored for the masses and its just processed to be the next big thing, all the big music industry cares about is money. its mostly underground bands that make good music because theyre not in it for the money.

@thychaos o yeah i do understand when a band is init for the money thay might start sounding shit etc, but alot of bands that go mainstrem still are in it for the music, i just cant see why people cant let that hole thing go, music is music, its like when metal heads hate evrything but metal befor acturly litseing to it. (if that makes sence)
