  • Fell in love with this band the fist time I heard them

  • How I like the "realistic" sound from the old vynil records!!! I still prerer the sound of records to CDs!!

  • The only thing that could beat this : the same record, but a Thorens td124-SME 3012 tonearm record player:)

  • marvel

  • Makes me happy when I feel blue.....

  • hey, did the chem bros sample this for their track "Leave Home"?

  • Very nice - way to go !

  • Chemical Brothers - Leave Home... Defineately.

  • =D

    perfect

  • the very best! nice m8:)

  • I had that record , maybe a few in mendoza, argentina

  • I've always marvelled at the structure of this lp; the way it starts up with geiger counter and leads into "radio activity" which is ominous and catchy in it's own way, then it quiets down into a desolate and sorrowful "radioland" after which it speeds back up again with the cheerful and bright "airwaves," then gives you a little "intermission" and then leads off with the controversial "news" and at the end of it all, "ohm sweet ohm." To me, there is no better way to end this marvellous journey.

  • @Burnrae The technical term for this is "Gesamtkunstwerk"...universal.

  • Thank you.

  • I get a little misty-eyed whenever I hear this. I would love to hear a live version some day.

  • Love it

  • One OOOHMMM into this and my brain was already going "The Brothers gonna work it out" all by itself.

    Damn you, Chemical Brothers!

  • Sehr Gut! R = U / I

  • we are here from the beginning..we will stay here...is our time..one single cell..human..love u all

  • I saw them in concert if you wanna call it that, they had panels of switches and well it was weird the did not use typical instruments at all, hahaha it looked kinda like a laboratory and they were dressed in Lab coats.

  • Gut yah.. meiner memory of this... Girls hate it..hard to shag to eheheeh.. nice tune tho

  • Mutter sagte immer, ich hätte keine Ahnung von guter Musik!

  • The Fathers of Techno - this is why they will always influence so many bands

  • Before Kraftwerk there was no such thing as electronic music, the first song i,ve ever heard was "Autobahn"

  • machines are alive

  • Is there a better close to an album than this - ever? Thank God for Kraftwerk.

  • @sergeantfrisky No.

  • THE BROTHERS GONNA WORK IT OUT.......oh sorry, wrong song.

  • I don't think the sound comes from the record player - Ohm Sweet Ohm is the last song on side B, but you've put the needle right at the beginning of the groove! :D Nevertheless, the song is great and so are old records! :D I bought The Catalogue and though I love the music and the new, more polished mixes, I find the simplified new album covers a little disapointing. Old cover for Trans Europe Express and Radioactivity were much better! :D Greetings for Kraftwerk fans everywhere! :D

  • @andrzejrobertendriu: The sound is from the record and I do drop the needle at the last track. Check the distance between the stylus and the center label and bear in mind that the turntable is shot from the back.

  • @0x51d Well, ok, my mistake! :D But it doesn't really matter. :D Anyway, how did you manage to drop the needle exactly in the right place? I can never do that with my record player... :D

  • Such a lifting song.

Just like all the Kraftwerk albums I've heard so far.

  • I got this album on cassette in 94 but just now realized that is where the sound at the intro to Chemical Bothers's Leave Home is from.

  • uahu

  • At our local radio station they produce a broadcast called "radio ohm- the magazine of electronic music" and they use the vocals of "Ohm Sweet Ohm" as their jingle.

  • down slow it down down slow it down

  • I've used this song in church as a special. No I am not kidding. I play the tune, starting just as the vocal fades out, and, with a bit of clever phrasing, the tune and lyrics to 'My Faith Looks Up To Thee' fit perfectly!

'My faith looks up to thee, O, Lamb of Calvary, savior divine -savior divine. Now hear me while I pray, take all my guilt away, oh let me from this day be wholly thine....'

Add all 4 verses, fade out with 'alleluias'....

    IDOLATRY! IDOLATRY! [GUILTY]

    PRAISE KRAFTWERK!! :]]]]

  • best kraftwerk song ever.

  • I remember this one. It was great then. It's really cool now. Just close your eyes and enjoy it.

  • ok for a funeral parlour

  • The kraftwerk are the father of the tecno-pop music. I'm only 14 years old and I'm Italian

  • Nice song :=)

  • hmm, who sampled this??

  • @dinesor read further down the comments... and the answer you shall find...

  • I have this album on CD and vinyl and for some reason the vinyl sounds better. lol Kraftwerk is very good. I love their music. I am not a model but I am looking good. lol

  • @uptonman666 lol how would it sound on a floppy disk?

  • I once had a very kraftwerk looking top loading cd player that started to mailfunction until nothing would play on it. ^months later i retried to let it play cds, but it wouldnt untul i put radio activity inthere. It couldnt play the tracks exept Ohm sweet ohm. It played it only once and after that it finally died. As if it said goodbye in its own electromechanical way. it was very magical...

  • Fascinating story, thanks for sharing. (No, I'm not being sarcastic).

  • LOLOLOL

    What a nice story

  • I felt a chill creep up my spine as I read that. Great story!

  • nd its totaly true. It was an audiosonic black toploader, with those plastic cooling fins in the end. Ik i could find one ill buy it again just for the looks.

  • @marcotmcom Hehe i love that, that is actually quite magic and wistful! (I am definately not being sarcastic either! : )

  • @marcotmcom Iv posted that story wherever i have posted this song, very magical indeed : )

  • @marcotmcom *sniff* so touching!

  • genius title!we learned about his work on science at school this year.I=V / R

  • Kraftwerk brigde Time and Space and even Aliens from Outer Space didn't know what to make of this Beauitful Music. Kraftwerk are the kings of Electronic Music

  • I love this piece. Simple, beautfiful, I would say like ~alandalman " Peace, sadness, then joy and happiness".Pure.

    Kraftwerk forever.

  • I'd second the comment about this song at my funeral. It's perfect. Peace, sadness, then joy and happiness. I love this whole album but this is my favorite piece of music from Kraftwerk.

  • This is either the custom-built vocoder by Sennheiser, or the custom-built vocoder by R. Barth KG.

  • To me this song should be at my funeral. Never mind any other song, just this one.

  • the last Kraftwerk Album before they really went syntho-pop. what alaways amazed me is the Electronic Precussion. didn't Ralf and Florain make an electronic Precussion Keyboard themselfes?

  • They did.

  • Records are so cool! Idk a piece of plastic can play music!!

  • Not Plastic, but a Highly refined Vinyl compound!

  • I simply LOVE it. This track is a perfect example of how Kraftwerk were not just "ahead of their time" or "cool"... the music shows passion and a beautiful mechanical soul. This video truly does the track justice. Vinyl sound (digitized to go over the internet I will grant but warm nonetheless). The video is great, just looking at the cover and watching the record spin. Does not distract at all from the amazing audio. I even like the occasional shadow seen in the background. THANK YOU!

  • Super!!! Thanks! Ω sweet Ω is my most favourite song by Kraftwerk, the melody is simply the best!

  • thankyou

  • Superb. Thanks

  • Danke für's Reinstellen, Platte auch in Zukunft gut schützen!!

  • V=RI->voltaje es igual a resistencia por intensidad de corriente...en memoria de george simon ohm

  • I know it's a long time but I = V / R

  • =OHM SWEET OHM= *sigh* Such pure beauty. VERY clean recording from 1975! Amazing. MY vinyls are shamefully TOO well-played.

    *SNAP*KracKle* TECHNOPOP* Rice Krispies Non-Stop.

    So- Florian QUIT??!! *NOOOOOO*

'fraid so. that's the word. :[[[[ Ralf is the only Originator left. They just toured Australia and Fritz had a {mild} heart attack.... Ye gads! God bless KRAFTWERK and keep them ALL safe! And God Bless Florian- wherever you are. [Solo projects? Funky JAZZ?? Who knows?]

  • For me, I think, one of the most Kraftwerk songs do like.

I also covered this song, and put the piano from the middle of the La Dusseldorf-ish did.

  • This song is perfect for an adventure game like Legend of Kyrandia. I love Kraftwerk, but this song make me think that XD HAHAHA.

Ohm sweet ohm .. I love it ^^

  • They probably inspired a lot of game music too.

  • I didn't hear a single vinyl pop or scratch the whole way through. LOL A true Kraftwerk fan, you must have kept it stored in a vacuum chamber! Hey, thanks for this!

  • Wasn't this also the name of a Cheap Trick song on the Rock & Rule soundtrack?

  • a lot of songs look be taken on this

like the one of blondie wwhen in the trainspotting in the discotheque

    this good my friend

    this pure album

  • the chemical brothers used a sample for their Leaving Home

  • The voice of energy...I remember on side 2 the songs, so cold, those Senheiser vocoders...

  • It was Doepfer Vocoders."Klanglich angenehm"Prototypisch und speziell....

  • The Doepfer Vocoder didn't come-out until the mid 90s!!!

  • put airwaves on! cheers

  • Good suggestion, it's on its way right now.
