Been having audio quality trouble for my entire Youtube life! Lately been using videopad editor. During playback after rendering the picture and audio quality is fine but once uploaded to Youtube the audio always sounds dreadful! even after waiting an hour!! so tried exactly what you said on this tutorial and no luck, audio quality still dreadful for every single uploaded vid! only difference was the little HD sign that came up. its automatic, just make sure you upload high def footage. it doesnt always show up right away, takes some time to process!

OH GOD !! if your video is in 1280 x 720 resolution then the HD button automatically comes and when pressed , 720p HD resolution comes. If your video is in 1920 x 1080 resolution then then true 1080p HD come if the HD button is pressed .

They don't tell you that YouTube automatically recognizes HD videos and transcodes them to thier HD.

Anyhow, Youtube doesn't put that little "Watch in HD" link immediately after the upload is viewable ti visitors. Even though the video can be played in Low Res, the HD feature just appeared an hour later.

The problem with your argument: Youtube DOES recognize HD video. There is NO separate "HD Uploading Procedure" to do, and you HAVE TO upload it a certain way, or a few certain ways, for Youtube to recognize it.

And, no, the video is not available in HD right away, but that's not my fault, so don'y complain to me.

This process has worded for every sing other person who has an HD video on Youtube. You must be doing something wrong, terribly wrong.

If it doesn't process within 3 hours it wont ever... Sry but ya...

Explanation: You did something wrong (Resolution is too big, wrong codec, audio not AAC or Mp3...) You're gonna have to delete it then edit it (You'll need an editing program) put all the necessary requirements (they are in this video) and try again :)

if you upload a 1280x720 vid, it shrinks it to 856x480.

then when I tried to upload a 856x480 vid, it doesn't even count as HD ... only HQ. then when I upload a 640x360 [HQ] vid ... it doesn't come out HQ... only standard.

is there a fix for this?!?

I cannot possibly know, because you do not provide correct information, or you correct terminology. What are "alterations?" If you mean editing, why are you rendering before you edit it? As for the audio, look in the settings in the software. Even better...try it!

Sony Vegas Pro 8 for the main video. I also used Adobe Photoshop CS4 to edit the photos used, and Subtitle Workshop to add captions. Also, a bit of Sony Sound Forge 9 to edit audio, and Sony Acid Pro 6 to record.
