i remember them playing in detroit at blondies around 1988 i think.i was parting with elduce before the show and after the show.He was sitting at the bar with this dildo hanging out of his pants and he told me to buy him some beer.lol so i got him a couple of pitchers of beer,and he slammed them. Half of the crowed had tape recorders recording this show and it was the funniest show i had ever seen.If anyone has these tapes please let me know where to get them.

Funny! I talked to El Duce before he died. The guy was funny as fuck in person! He laughed about the old days in Hollywood! We joked about Tipper Gore's crusade to clean up rock n roll! Met El Duce quite a few times. I was friends with Moose, the guy that replaced him on drums after he died. When sober, he was very nice and quite polite. However, that wasn't that often. One time circa 1992, he came into the 8121 club on Sunset/Crescent Hgts and just started picking up and knocking back drinks from random tables. That didn't last last long. He was thrown out and when I left he was passed out on the sidewalk. He was a character, that Duce.

I went to a few New Wave Theater tapings at Hollywood Tropicana at 15 yrs old. The only punk you'd hear on radio/tv back then was 'Rodney on the Roq' on Fri & Sat nites, or NewWaveTheater on TV 1X a wk on UHF. 99% only had 7 channels, 2,4,5,7,9,11& 13. Plus 3 UHF channels w/ bad reception. CableTV just began w/ only "SelecTV" & "Z Channel". Z was better than anything on tv then & now. I learned about great films from Z Channel. Watch the documentary "Z Channel: A Magnificent Obsession". 5*
