Joyful Noise was pretty bad. If I was just rating the music alone I would say this is great. Best of the year. But you have to rate the story and the characters too. Minute the music stopped and the story came back I wanted to like that but I hated it and wanted the music to comeback. There was bad chemistry between the Queen and Dolly. The main romance was much like a cross between Twilight and the Craploose movie (Footloose remake). I didn't like three of the side characters.

@captcrais101 I hated Walter, the boy with Aspergers. I know someone who has that and he is not as annoying as Walter. I only started to sympathize when he wanted to be normal. I wanted to tell him being normal is over rated. Being yourself is better. The woman who hasn't been with a man in a while I started to like until the mishap with the first man she falls for. I felt that wasn't necessary. Then there was the human parrot. Repeating everything. Very annoying.

I know this is kind of strange but it's true! My 6th grade teacher (who was a freak) always talked about Dolly Parton and how she wanted her body and boobs, she played Dolly Parton movies during days with no work, and she played her music in the backround while in class, not to mention she had a Dolly Parton bobble head collection along the window!

I saw this movie at the premiere and thought it was one of the best movies I had ever seen. It was hilarious, very uplifting, and emotional.

I also thought Dolly Parton was great in the movie and read a lot of emotion on her face (she may have had a lot of plastic surgery but she still CAN move her face).

4.5/5 stars from me!

I saw the trailer and face-palmed. I've misjudged movies based on trailers before but this one is just bad period! I didn't want to watch it anyways, but thanks for warning me about it. Helps me know what to watch out for should my parents, for some insane reason, choose to put it on when it comes to DVD on a slow night.

I'm going to watch it at home when it comes out. 1) I wouldn't drag my husband to this sort of movie and 2) I wouldn't want to pay that much to see it, but I do love Queen Latifah and I've enjoyed some of Keke Palmer's perfomances and I have very fond memories of Dolly Parton before they replaced her with the Jim Henson's version. Also, I love music and was part of a choir, so that sort of thing interests me as well.
