  • Wonderful recording at a time when both were superb, truly the real voice of

Gigli , he wasn't crying or sobbing or play acting...here he's a true dedicated

man of opera........thanks for the memories.

  • La madre di tutte "Le Boheme" ! Insuperabile !!!!

  • This is beautiful!

  • It's common knowledge that Gigli was the heir to Caruso's thrown. If Caruso was the King, Gigli was the Prince of tenors. Albanese is in a class by herself - legendary!

  • You cannot really compare Jussi and Caruso, one a Lyric and one a Spinto, very different types of voices but yes you can compare the technique's of both and both great but Caruso was the king of tenors we all know that. I never heard Caruso but I did hear JB in the house and in same roles I preferred Tucker with his big rich Spinto voice and Gigli was of course was warmer then JB being Italian and singing with great emotion and beauty and a sweet voice. The sweet as sugar lyric tenor voice .

  • WOW what a brilliant heavenly tenor voice

  • Jussi was very very good for the type and sound of his instrument..I personally did not like his sound in most of his songs/recordings

  • WOW!! Gigli and Albanese...two of my all time favorites!

  • Awesome

  • Gorgeous how their voices blend.

  • 2 Tenors I simply adore Franco Corelli and Gigli..can't really decide whom I like the most...the trained tenor or the self-trained tenor(trained meaning schooled)

  • @mactopolis What about Bjoerling? or Caruso?

  • @seektheforce

Caruso was in a class all his own and probably the king all tenor voices.

    Jussi ????

To me was in the class of tenors like Sergio Franchi,Jose Carreras,Mario Lanza and dozens more fine quality voices...but no better than them

  • @mactopolis I think you're wrong about Jussi Bjoerling, he was in a class in and of himself as well. No better or worse than Caruso.

  • @seektheforce & mactopolis.

You guys must be a voice conosiuers. In my humble opinion Jussi is the next best thing after Caruso. Caruso first , Jussi 2nd. He got scored lower only becoz of his Italian diction. Other than that, he is great to be in the league of Caruso, Gigli, Pavarotti & Domingo. Hey Misters have you heard of young Tenor Vittorio Grigolo? He is a light lyric tenor. He sings descent what do you think of him. I know is no Caruso but he has a unique style & good technique. Thanks.

  • @cavaradosi1 The tenor you mentioned Vittorio. Is mic'd much of the time...which means there is something wrong with his technique.

  • @cavaradosi1 He is mic'd too much. He doesn't have good technique.

  • Música y voces del cielo!!!

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Glorious!!!.TY

  • Bravisssssimiiiii!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great pleasure to listen to such artists !

    Thanks a lot!

  • Magnifico! Grazie mille!

  • Great duo! Great singers!

  • Merci d'avoir mis en ligne une splendide interprétation par des voix dignes de ce nom.

Vive la technique italienne traditionnelle !

    Merci beaucoup

  • Absolutely beautiful. Thanks!

  • Magnificent voices...what a great find! Thanks for posting it!
