@bullseye9572 Yeah I guess that's true in some places. I just wanted to make sure that I said what needed to be said the right way. And this was my first video. If you've made videos, you'll understand when I say making YouTube is hard in the beginning. Thanks for your feedback! As per your question...Do you mean what was this video about, or the one I beamed? This video itself is about the Twonky app. The video I beamed to the TV was a recording of me yoyoing just to avoid any copyright issues.
Kylesh, very well done. I downloaded this app on one of our droid phones but haven't used it yet. I see the potential though and how much fun it might be. will there be a blackberry version coming out?
@fijianthunder Thanks Kaka! Who has the droid in the house???? And I don't think a blackberry version is coming out because the RIMM platform isn't as popular anymore. But Kaki has an iPod so she can use the soon to be twonky app.
awesome job man i will subscribe to u rite now and its been along time since weve talked lets see if you can guess who this is! hahahahaha i hope you do well in your future
Great demo of a an extremely cool new app!!! Demonstrating two very practical application of it quickly showcases what it can quickly do. I'll spread the word and hopefully get somewhat of a buzz amongst techies. Good to hear an iPhone / iTouch version will be coming out, despite it being somewhat shorter on the features -- they've got a pretty big market share (which is being somewhat challenged). All the best and take care!
@Jdayal100 Thanks so much!! Id really appreciate if you could spread this around. And hopefully the iPhone/iPod touch version will come out soon, however I was able to find that there is a remote app for the device I used to get my TV connected.
Nice review dude. So do you have to install an app on your mac as well? And what does it take for the tv to receive the video? Does it all run over wifi or is there a central server somewhere?
@hgrandhige Thanks! and great question. There is no central server, it is all wifi based. A lot of devices today happen to come with Twonky built in, or are compatible with connected devices (such as the Phillips i used). The Mac had Twonky server on it so I was able to pull from that. And the The only app was the one on the phone. The TV was using a Western Digital system. I'm trying to get my dad to buy a new TV with internet capabilities.
Nice job K! You did a good job in demonstrating the benes instead of just talking about them. Twonky's a pretty cool service. Going to the iTunes app store to see if it's there now.
BTW - The last time I saw you was just before you moved from Seattle and boy, you sure have grown up!!!! I'm an old (older than I want to admit...) friend of your dad's.
@jimsmoak Thanks J!! And I very much do remember you becuase you don't smoke (when I was small, I thought your name meant you literally smoked!) :D
I just found out by reading the Twonky fan page on facebook that the company plans on making an iPhone version, although it won't be as rich in features as the android version - stay tuned and we shall both find out. Don't forget to subscribe because there are more videos on the way! When the iphone version comes out, I'lll def reveiw/demo it!
Thanks for sharing...liked the touch dat ya did with the vid in tight shot mode instead of landscape. So, I check out the Android marketplace and see two Twonky apps and they both say mobile - what gives?
@TatTwamAsi108 thanks for watching the video! There are two apps in the market place titled with "twonky" and "mobile". However, one says Twonky Server Mobile and it doesn't do what I did in this vid. Twonky server allows your phoones content to be accesed from devices (the same way my computer's vids were accessed).
Twonky mobile is the one that lets you control the content to devices.
Dude , I loved your video but why you seem so much stressed and uncomfortable it is youtube not a tvshow calm down . Again thanks for the video ;)
But Still what was that video about please ?

@tagenter It's hard to say, but I am quite positive that the company is working on getting Twonky Mobile on that platform too.
