  • i stop at 3:53

  • did anyone else try and hold their breath along with her?

  • Yes, this is rehearsed very seriously, but - they would never let anything happen to her. They would never overlook any possible risk that could 'go wrong'. Yes, she is able to not take a breath for an extended period of time. At the same time, remember, this is show business. It's all about presentation - and how it 'looks'.

If she needed to, she could burst out of that tank. Or, they could get in within a few seconds if necessary.

After saying this, kudos to her for knowing her craft.

  • how is that possible?

  • she tried this once at a halftime basketball game and went into hypoxia

  • the record fur longest time underwater without breathin is 7 min 18 seconds

  • @SuperJimilee 17 mins.. BUT with pure oxygen..

  • go kristen

  • Wow I actually got scared when she suddenly stood up and the reporter jumped forward. :O Thought se should drown.

  • @ImTooSexyForMyself it was he husband but i was scared too :L

  • SHE IS AWESOME!

  • i saw this live it was simply the best escape i have ever seen!

  • simply... WOW! congratulations!

  • did anybody else notice how she kept putting her hand into her mouth like show was eating or something? what was up with that.

  • I think she was trying to get the thing to unlock the chains in the right place with her mouth ;) Just watch closely

  • @drumbeast54, She bends the steel wire into the right angle to open the lock, every lock has a different system to open it..

  • This is physically impossible, the maximum amount of time a human being can hold his/her breath is 3 minutes. After that you pass out and take a breath automatically, consider it your bodys oxygen fail safe. If a human is deprived of oxygen for longer than 3 minutes, there can be irreversible brain damage. She held her breath for almost 4 minutes.

  • You're actually partially right some people are able to hold it for longer than 3 minutes and it wont cause brain damage because the brain will first make you faint and you will begin breathing against your will. But with a lot of practice some people can hold their breath for 2-3 minutes although their blood is filling with carbon dioxide. And after around a minute your gonna have to battle it out with your brain to keep you from taking that automatic breath.

  • @chgsf03

The trick is to train your body to work at minimum energy so you use you're oxygen very slowly, if she does this act for 3 minutes, she's able to hold her breath atleast 4 minutes, the moment where she struggles doesn't happen here, this is all well-trained over and over and over..
