  • The words "Jimmy McNulty's Wake" were such a spoiler for me, I was midway through season 3 and just wanted to look up what song a scene was using, and some website was like "Here's a listing of all the songs in the Wire, in case you're wondering what was playing at a club, or at McNulty's Wake" and I was like oh HELL no they are NOT killing off fucking McNulty. In a way it was a reverse spoiler, since the whole 5th season I expected him to get whacked, and then I see him alive at his own wake.

  • Yo Omar coming yo!

  • fuck, why have i clicked this!? i'm natural dumbass...

  • Fucking McNulty I love him LOL

  • I miss The Wire :(

  • Natural POlice

  • Sheeeeeeeeeiiit.

  • shut the fuck up! ur dead to us now! - classic bunk

  • The best scene in TV history imo. Simply epic. Man I miss this show. The Wire > The Sopranos....and I love The Sopranos.

    Natural POOlice.

  • PUT THE FUCKIN SONG ON HUE!

  • I love how people who haven't finished watching the series come up this video and think that McNulty actually dies. You got to learn - this isn't some usual cop show bullshit with policemen pulling out their pistols frequently, getting into shootings and all that shit. This is The Wire.

  • when the music cuts out and the police siren goes on in the background it gives me chills every time.

  • @doneckreddahl i know me too :)

  • "natural po-lice"

  • what did Bunk say?!?!

  • @trith53 shit if you were lying there dead on some corner, probably jimmy that done you

  • bushy top !!!

  • "Because brother when you were good, you were the best we had"

  • The Wire is the best show ever, by far. Breaking Bad is good but The Wire is WAY better.

  • Perfect scene, this should have been the final scene of The Wire.

  • As i was watching the last episode of The Wire, i tried my best to keep my emotions in check. But this scene brought everything out. I've never cried and laughed so intensely from any other scene in a movie, book, or TV show. Ever.

  • Does anyone know the song they're singing?

  • @oer6000 - Name of the song is "The Body of an American" by The Pogues

  • @oer6000 - Name of the song is "The Body of an American" by The Pogues

  • @oer6000 "Body Of An American" by The Pogues

  • @oer6000 The Body of an American by the Pogues

  • such a great tribute to such a great detective

  • i just love how landsman said "i am freeborn man of the usa"

    classic.

  • "But Christ what an asshole!"

  • i saw the title of this video before i had finished the 5th series, i thought it had spoilt it for me, but it made the scene so much better!

  • i love this scene, i love the wire everyone should

  • Not only the best tv show of all time, but one of the best pieces of fiction period.

  • damn i wish i could get my family into the wire, someone help!

  • Comment removed

  • As a former member of the thin blue line" this is more truth than fiction. I actually found this show to be more realistic than any other.

  • @ilikedwatchingvideos yeah until you need their help.

  • @ilikedwatchingvideos "bullshit tv show for morons". Which is why most people call it the best television drama of all time. You know what? Go fuck yourself. I'm glad this show isn't for you. We don't need shits like you watching The Wire.

  • @ilikedwatchingvideos I see you've never watched an episode before then.

  • So it isn't just the video quality that's usually poor on YouTube, it's also the sound quality.

  • PUT THE FUCKING SONG ON HUGH !

  • Fuuuuck, thanks for spoiling it for me, related videos.

  • @nollix

number one rule: never google, wiki or youtube characters of a show until u finish it.

  • @oye2a2000 i always regret doing this... i just want to find out like which actor plays which character or what other works i recognize them from. but then i find spoilers right away lol.

  • @oye2a2000 He doesn't die, just saying.

  • @nollix Should've waited till you finished the series before went creeping on youtube!

  • "If you were lying there dead on some corner, it is probably Jimmy that done yah" Bunk, what a legend!

  • Jimmy is a gaping asshole!

  • I wish Bunny Colvin showed up to this

  • But God what an asshole! (B-More Born Baby!!!)

  • INDEED the best serial ever !

  • 4 People are not natural POlice

  • haahha what a scene :) best show ever made

  • Natural PoOoLice...

  • McNulty u fucking LEGEND!

  • that fat guy is so useless he is a typical cop in real life lazy wand want overtime

  • @samantha34ize Are you fucking kidding me? Landsman was a great detective sergeant.

  • great fuking cop i wish ther e r more cops like this get the real bad guy instead of writing tiket to ppl for petty stuff in ny

  • Best fucking show EVER

  • Don't worry folks, David Simon said he'll make a sixth season of The Wire! We just have to end the War on Drugs first.

  • JIMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Best way to finish up an epic series.

    go McNulty!

  • @galmerkado Agreed. It was a brilliant ending for one of the best shows on TV.

  • When it goes into 2/4 everyone loses the lyrics

  • Im a cop and when I think that work is too hard I think of the Wire! After that Im Pumped

  • By far the best series HBO has ever done!

  • Best show on tv, period.

  • I find it funny that everyone says "Even better than Sopranos", as if The Sopranos is the holy grail of TV or some shit. It was groundbreaking and the best show of its time, but to compare it to the likes of The Wire or Six Feet Under is laughable.

  • @jaredowty The Wire was better then Six Feet Under, but Six Feet Under had the best ending of any show!

  • @madmick17 Agreed 100%. The Wire is also more consistent and doesn't have a bad season, whereas SFU suffered from soapy, overdramatic third and fourth seasons. That ending though...perfect. It can't be beat.

  • Damn I miss this show. McNulty is my my IDOL!

  • Fuck did I do?!?!

  • natural poooooooooo....lice

  • Got to agree with the comments here. Possibly the greatest tv show ever made (even better than the Sopranos), and this along with where Bunk chides Omar are amongst the single finest scenes in all television history. When you have seen the Wire its hard to go back to ordinary tv again!

  • Kind of sucks that McNulty got forced out of the police without a pension, he's gotta start from scratch on some other job now

  • Wow this is an awesome scene. My wife and I have been only recently discovered "The Wire" and I put it up there as one of the best shows ever. I can't undrstand why it never won an emmy.

  • Common guy, you can't give a title like this to your video ...

I was just listening to the Pogues' music after watching the wake of a policeman at the beginning of season 3 and you just spoiled me three entire seasons with this ... i'm just so sad (and angry) right now ....

  • @Sekhmetouserapis he doesnt die if thats what you think. Sorry if i just added to the spoiling

  • THIS is how I want to go out when I retire.

  • One of the greatest scenes in tv history

  • this scene made me laugh and cry at the same time. incredible stuff

  • "then do it....you gappy motherfucker"

    the Bunk

  • ... I've stayed off the pop all day, against the odds, then I got to the split-second shot on 4:33 of this, and practically jogged to the fridge for a cold one... I defy you not to get the twitch, too...

  • Absolutely incredible end to an incredible TV show.

  • Perfect. Brilliant.

  • 3:20

  • "he asked no quarter of the bosses, and none was given..."

  • and mcnulty with his ever not so genuine "and what the fuck did I do???"

  • fuckin love mcnulty, what a fantastic scene

  • goosebumps, what a fuckin moment.

  • Brother when you were good, you were the best we had

  • OMG, I thought he really HAD died!

  • AAAAaaah shut-da-fuc-uup!....ya dead to us now!

  • i always get the tingles up my spine when I watch this

  • 4:37...where they show the pictures of dead cops Ray Cole and Raymond Foerster. Great continuity, and as Lester would say, "All the pieces matter."

  • @Shack83 lol i haaad to steal the pic of ray cole off the wall of that bar. way too tempting. have it sitting on my dresser in my bedroom haha

  • McNulty is the reason i went into police acedemy!

  • @cbizrap LOL are you a drunken woman chasing cop? I know I am NSW Police baby!

  • @cbizrap the movie?

  • @cbizrap You spell like a cop

  • "Put the fuckin' song on, Hugh!"

"Shiit, if it was you lying there dead on some

corner,... prob-ly Jimmie dat done it...."

  • I wept like a baby the first time I saw 3:43 onwards. You really feel a sense of tradition and family.

  • Am I the only one who sang along at the end?

  • @gdhuertas07 You ain't by yourself. That's the best part.

  • I wish I could see this entire series again for the very first time. What a work of art.

  • Best

    Drama

    Ever

  • What the fuck did I do?!

  • great moment. almost made me shed a tear.

  • my god what an amazing song BODY OF AN AMERICAN

  • my favorite moment out of the entire series.

  • Rawls and Daniels dislikes.

  • @Kimholmlund Don't forget Ronnie, but then again she and Daniels are a couple.

  • @Kimholmlund

Man, you're right. FUCK Rawls and Daniels.

  • my favorite scene from my favorite show. nothing will ever match up to the wire, not even close

  • He was,.....the Black sheep. He's natural Police. But Crist whatta Asshole!

  • "Put the fucking song on!"

  • Landsman's eulogies are the best part of the wakes IMO

  • I loved the Wire ending, it was so satisfying! Everything was tied up and it was just perfectly done, it was great.

  • Dis show really makes you think about shit.

  • What the fuck did I do?

  • @Mostarable

Darth Vadar is Luke's dad.....oh god, it just slipped out. Sorry!

  • @Mostarable C'mon, it's not as if Series 5 has only just been aired. Surely there's got to be a statute of limitations after which spoiler alerts don't apply? Hey, Verbal Kint is Keyzer Sosze! And Ilse stays with Victor Laszlo! And the witches trick Macbeth, because Macduff was born by Caesarean! And Oedipus fucks his mother!

    Um... sorry.

  • @Widmerpool99 lol

  • Natural born POlice.Yessir.

  • The great writers of The Wire did it right. They knew that character development was the way to go. And they developed all those great characters. Which is why it is The Best Drama Ever

  • legendary scene on a legendary show!!!

  • I have never been more emotionally attached to any piece of literature, movie, song, or any other piece of media than I was The Wire. This scene was so emotional, partly because I knew it was ending, but also because it was a fitting tribute to a great character. So God Bless Jimmy McNulty, because he'll surely need it!

  • Best

    Television

    Ever

  • who is the guy in mcnulty's passenger seat in the ending montage?

  • @mjdeben1 The guy is the dude McNulty used to construct his Homeless victims!

You know, that guy from the picture which the "Homeless-Killer" sent to the Newspaper! (Which was in fact Jimmy himself who shot this picture)

I hope I helped by your Question

  • Just brilliant tv. No show has had me gripped for 5 series

  • one of the wires best scenes

  • When Greggs revealed that she was the one who told on McNulty and Freamon, I was thinking McNulty was gonna run in her house and scribble "Snitch Bitch" all over her Ikea furniture

  • It doesn't matter how many times I see this video, it never ceases to bring a tear to my eye.

  • Long live Jimmy McNulty

  • If John Ford was still alive today, he'd direct scenes like that.

  • vampireLOREN -

Couldn't agree more. BEST. TELEVISION. EVER.

  • Faking the murders

  • so why did jimmie and freamon have to leave the police force!!!???

  • @TBIGMIL and because Kima was snitching...

  • The filming of this scene will go down as one of the best days of my life. I was lucky enough to snag a roll as one of the bartenders. Makes me sad the show is over but Im glad I got to be a small part of it.

  • @sendjunkmailhere Congrats man! My dad was a police, so it brings a tear to my eye seeing this scene...

  • Jimmy always was a cuddlier .

  • was this the last episode? i don't know becuase im only at season 3

  • @malleymyster

You don't want to know. Watch the series, it's the BEST

  • Natural PO-lice!

  • This was brilliant. Its like they're not even acting!

  • as vampireLOREN said, without a doubt.

  • best The Wire scene. Arguably one of the best in TV history

  • For me, this is one of the best scenes in tv history.

    The wire, always and forever<3

  • what's the name of the song they put on?

  • @danhan2 The Body of an American by The Pogues.

  • I never understood why greggs gave lester and mcnulty us and daniels wanted to fire them so badly. I understand that greggs thought it was the right thing to do, and carver did the same thing with tony whats his face who beat up the teacher, but tony was bad police. He represented all that was bad with the department, all he cared about was making street busts. Lester and mcnulty were the best in the department. If i were daniels, i would be trying to keep them in the department

  • @theroots12345 It was politics tho. They basically embarrassed the mayor's office. Heads had to roll for that entire fiasco. Plus they had dirty on Daniels too so he had to do this.

  • @Antrizzle2009 i understand why the mayor's office and daniels punished them, everyone was watching and they had to no matter what. but kima didn't have to let daniels know about what mcnulty and freamon were doing with the homeless thing, it wasn't harming her in any way.

  • @theroots12345 Yes it was. It was pulling her away from doing real police work because the bosses wanted everybody on this serial killer. That's why McNulty felt guilty and finally told her. Yea it was messed she ratted him out, but it needed to be done and McNulty understood that. I think part of him wanted her to rat him out.

  • Natural Poh Leece!!!

  • I love how when Jay stops speaking at 3:03, you hear the sirens in the background. Its like, even though one of 'the best' murder cops is finishing up and most of the cops are in the bar celebrating him, the city still moves on. Gansters dont stop dealing or killing for nobody and cops are still out there after them. Nice moment

  • @Delaney001 Excellent ears! I missed that, but you are partially right. Deep down, I think that's Baltimore's calling for one of their finest to be back on the streets, doing their job to protect the citizens of the city.

  • Put the fuckin' song on Hugh!

  • Put the fuckin' song on Hugh!
