The words "Jimmy McNulty's Wake" were such a spoiler for me, I was midway through season 3 and just wanted to look up what song a scene was using, and some website was like "Here's a listing of all the songs in the Wire, in case you're wondering what was playing at a club, or at McNulty's Wake" and I was like oh HELL no they are NOT killing off fucking McNulty. In a way it was a reverse spoiler, since the whole 5th season I expected him to get whacked, and then I see him alive at his own wake.

I never understood why greggs gave lester and mcnulty us and daniels wanted to fire them so badly. I understand that greggs thought it was the right thing to do, and carver did the same thing with tony whats his face who beat up the teacher, but tony was bad police. He represented all that was bad with the department, all he cared about was making street busts. Lester and mcnulty were the best in the department. If i were daniels, i would be trying to keep them in the department
