@MrCJ1988 It's called multitrack recording. It's pretty much the basis of modern recording; a good place to find out more might be for you to search wikipedia for "multitrack recording"
I use a digital video camera to record the proceedings as I record direct to my computer. I mix the audio to its final form, also exporting a solo track of each instrumental part as it sits within the finished mix. Then, it's a matter of lining up the audio of the video tracks with the audio from the in-mix solo exports. Once all is lined up, I delete audio on the various solo tracks and import the overall audio mix which, happily, has the exact same timing as the solo-exports.
It's very smoothing music. I like it. picture im wandering around in a bamboo forest, listening to the wind touch the leaves--- it's great, a bit like Chinese music though.
