This is a fabulous song, by a couple of fabulous singers! I guess it's in their blood. I sure do miss The Statler Brothers' show and concerts! They will always be the greatest in my mind!!!!
These guys are great. Being a fan of The Statler Brothers for over 40 yrs, I can pick out Harold's voice pretty easily. You can hear him at 2:36 and at the end - unless Wil sings that part on a back track! He has a great vocal range, so it could be him. Any info anyone?
had never heard of the statlers till last year, now i can't get enough of them.absolutely love their music especially do you remember these and their singing of how great thou art and the lords prayer-absolutley beautiful
What a tribute. I've loved them since I was in my 30's or before. Seen them 3 times. The voices remind me of younger voices. I think I could listen to this song for 30 minutes before I get tired. And the pictures are just awesome. I can relate to most of them. Linda in Kansas, just turned 60.
I could sit and listen to these guys all day as I could their fathers. I feel that if the music industry wasn't as commercialized as it is that these guys would be #1 on the charts!!!
Wow - these fellows are great . They sure have inherited their dads' talents. Their harmony is right on. I love this song. Also, the pictures are super fine - they bring back many memories. I will always miss Lou. He was a handsome man and a great tenor. The best. What a legacy The Statler Brothers have left with not only their own fabulous talent but now with the sons of Harold and Don here. We don't find talent like this very often these days. Thanks so much for posting this winner. - Paula
What an awesome tribute to a Great American group!! I grew up with them and took my grandma to see thier Farewell Tour two years before she passed away. That is a memory I will never forget. We both cried when they sang How Great Thou Art!!
Wow. They look and sound so much like their fathers. What wonderful singers the Statlers were. I have all their records, but only saw them once, in 1971, before they were really big. My fav Statler song is When the Yankees Came Home. For some reason that song brings tears to my eyes when i hear it.
I love, love, LOVE this song and this video!!!!! Great seeing the Statlers, country's greatest group, with so many other country greats! I especially love the shot of them on the Mandrell sisters show and remember seeing it when it aired originally! Wil and Langdon are fantastic, and Wil not only LOOKS like his dad Harold, but has his sense of humor, too!
I saw Grandstaff at the Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree in May. It was awesome. They had Jimmy Fortune on the show with them and then after the show Wil and Langdon came out and signed autographs. They sure look and sound like their Fathers'. This sure is a great tribute song.
Great Song guys! Wil, you look like your dad!!! My grandma and aunt in Cincy went to fan fair in 1986 {I think} and saw the Statler brothers and they loved them! You guys are amazing as a duo. I also went to Staunton to see them and we just missed Phil! Keep the good work going!
This Is an excellent Song and Video...Your Fathers have to be proud of these Guys ...They sound just like their fathers and sing excellent Love these Guys CD circles
The apple never fall far from the tree. I have about 30 of the Satler Bro CD, Cassett Tapes, & even Vinyl 33 1/3.... have been to many concets in Dayton, Oh. I even took my Japanese boss to a concert for him to experience Real American Country at it's best. Raised 4 children on the Statlers and concerts. look forward to more from Grandstaff keep up the music.
It's at the Ohio State Fair in Columbus, OH. The overhead crowd shot at 0:40 is at the Happy Birthday USA concert in Staunton, VA. Thank you for your interest, Doug
I think this one of the best songs that the sons could have made. I may only be 27 but my dad taught me all about the older country singers and The Statlers are one of my favorite groups, Way to go guys.
Grandstaff was the opening act for a George Jones concert I saw last Friday in Pennsylvania. Not only do these two, Wil and Langdon, have alot of musical talent , they are also hilarious. And the way Wil sings Conway Twitty's song "Lay Me Down" is incredible. I didn't know the a voice could go that low!
LOL, not hard to see the resemblance huh? Has his father's eyes and vocal talent too. The music matches Harold's also .. is that Liz Taylor, oh never it wouldn't surprise me.
yes, "Oh Elizabeth" was written by Jimmy Fortune for Ms. Taylor. The guys took the picture with her while giving her on the set of a moving she was doing. Check out The Statler Bros. Random Memories by Harold and Don Reid for the full story behind the picture.
Yes, the guys took a picture with Elizabeth Taylor on the set of a movie she was filming. Their song "Oh Elizabeth" was a tribute to the iconic movie star.

I just bought the CD a week ago--If you don't have it, go get it! The rest of it is just as good as this one! A must have for your collection! Wonderful material!
They say it all in this song. The Statlers were and still are the best. The line "country music will never be the same" is sooooo true. I have loved the Statlers for many years and they will always be number one to me. This is a great song. Thanks for posting it. Keep up the good work Grandstaff and carry your dads music on.
Man, I love these guys, they are sooooooo awsome. I was a Statler fan as a preteen and teen when it wasn't cool and got teased a lot but I didn't care. I have always loved the Statlers and I love these guys too!! Keep up the good work!!
Such a great song about a great group. This brings back such good memories of times past. I grew up on the Statler's music and love to hear all the old songs that they recorded. Keep up the good word and record some more songs.
Obviously a little Statler Back-up singing in there?? Harold at least . . .
Love it. Great song and great group that I had no idea existed! I LOVE the Statlers and grew up listening to them -- esp. at Christmas -- even this song takes me back but I uploaded a BUNCH of Statler on iTunes as well.
the statler brothers have been my favorite group since i was in middle school i love ther songs and they seem like nice guys jimmy is my favorite one but i love them all
I love them all and ,always will be my favorites, but I loved Lew he gave them their unique sound; if you guys ever read these -hey love you all ---harold-you know,
Congratulations to Wil and Langdon for the great video they put together as a tribute to their Dads and the Statler Brothers group. The two of them as Grandstaff sound great together as well.
What a marvelous tribute. I listen to the Statler Brothers every day on my iPod while I walk. What a wonderfully talented group of men. My favorite album: Short Stories.
Thanks guys for the memories included in this song. I had never heard it before today, my 62nd birthday.
I love seeing all these pictures & love this song. I wish I could have seen the Statler Brothers in concert before they retired. They are really great singers. Grandstaff sounds just like them. I would like to see this group if they are ever in my area!
A fitting tribute to the Statlers. It is a shame there is no room in country music for acts like the Statlers any more. They truly were one of the greatest.
