  • trippy lyrics!

  • Is from The Beatles Anthology, all my childhood listening this version ahahaa. :)

  • The world needs John today.

  • John forever in the DAY OF THE MUSIC!

  • rip Rav vy shangar

  • Thanks for the upload, but Ravi Shankar did not play on this one. George Harrison is playing tamboura drones and swaramandal, with John and George playing acoustic guitars. No sitar is used here: it is just acoustic guitar throughout

  • Thank you Debbie for an excellent video!

  • great :)

  • this song is precious, amazing, it is in fact one of my favourite songs in the world, and i'm talking about THIS version :) it's on the anthology 2 (my favourite disc in the world haha) for those who didn'y know! i didn't knew ravi shankar played on this, really??

  • a very underrated John Lennon song

  • Yessss this is the original in D thank you

  • how can 2 people dislike this song

  • Wow you can see the awakening and awareness in Johns eyes!!

  • this isnt rare its on the anthology 3

  • from what i understand the original was sped up, and phil spector got involved and added his "wall of sound" that drowned out the simple beauty in this song. i think it was released for a benefits for animal rights.

  • What a beauty!

  • Why was this version not released? It is beautiful.

  • seems to me the post-processed take 2 as appeared in the anthology 2 album released in 1996, and i don't think shankar ever got involved with this recording...

  • Still a great song. I was never aware that he sings "Jai Guru Deva" in the end. Thank you for the translation ratonmickey.

  • A previously-unreleased February 1968 alternate take of the song (recorded before the master), sans heavy production, appeared on Anthology 2 in 1996. This is often referred to as the "psychedelic" recording because of the strong Indian sitar and tanpura sound.

  • are you sure that this is ravi shankar on this recording? i have nver heard of them recording anything together?

  • @satanrocks668 it might've been George Harrison becuase George knew how to play sitar- George leanred from Ravi- and Gearoge played sitar on Norwegian wood for the Beatles. Ravi and George were friends, but the Beatles all went to India and met him all together and this song was written while John was in India so Ravi might've played on it while the Beatles were in India

  • This is the best version of the song: /watch?v=2XBwEBXZa94

  • Great version and tribute to John Lennon! His spirit lives on across the universe.
