@TheMrNotcool Well, Steve was pretty good in Tekken 4 because he can jab faster and recover faster. However, his combos were limited back in Tekken 4 before the introduction of f+2,1~b(FLK) which can lead to devastating combos in Tekken 5 especially with his safe old launcher d/f+2 which have been removed in Tekken 6. Those nerfs they made to Steve makes him a more CH reliance character.

Man, I hate way Steve being nerfed in T6 like removing his basic uppercut (d/f+2) just because of the complaints from the noobies. He's much harder to use now since he have no safe launchers.

Steve is strong not because of the top players but because Steve is extremely cheap at wall.

Steve is not a noob character, but a strong character that need some good poking skill to fight with. Besides, he has already been nerfed a lot in Tekken 6 due to the removal of his safe launcher d/f+2. He's more to a CH type character now.

I would say the leading factor that makes Steve strong is that most of his moves are completely safe on block. But yes he also has a mean wall game.
