@GigaDrainCradily They can actually be really good. Blastoise is a good defensive rapid spinner, Venusaur can sleep dangerous opponents and stall them with leech seed and synthesis, and Charizard is a good special attacker in general.

Or you could use them because you like them

The most hilarious thing is that his Blastoise would've killed your Crawdaunt before you'd fully set up if he'd only used Surf from the out set (props for being old school and using Skull Bash, mind). Underestimating the power of STAB is never a good thing... (plus knowing your opponent's defensive stats helps)

I was referring to the fact that enemy Crawdaunt in the D/P battle tower almost always activate Quick Claw and hit with Guillotine.

You're pretty much forced to get a Skarmory with Aerial Ace, Agility, SD, and Roost with Sturdy (otherwise you'll get walled by a Double Team Duskclops/Umbreon/Blissey)

@Feshman117 I remember you now--I already answered your question. This game covers the first four generations. Nintendo and Game Freak will never produce a game that doesn't cover every generation they make. If you want to be nostalgic, you'll have to play the older games.

@Feshman117 No, there isn't. Based on my experiences playing against other people online in this game, VERY few people use only Generation 1 Pokémon anyway. Most use a mix among generations.

They rarely ever suggest strategies based on Endure because it's assumed there's a Sandstorm or Hail going on.

Hey overhazard I have a couple questions. I understand why you would want x-scissor, it's good against types that are also good against crawdaunt. But is there a better substitute since x-scissor's attack is a little gimped because of crawdaunts dark type? (not refering to the video since you kicked his ass XD)

@Pleesd2cu There's no reason to start attacking right away, especially with Blastoise using Skull Bash. The Swords Dances allowed me to one-shot Venusaur and Charizard when they appeared.
