  • Could you use promarker pens to colour in a stencil before adding embossing paste? And then possibiliy use a heat gun?

  • @Enquiringmind777 Hi, I am thinking that you could use the pens if you used the 'clear' embossing paste. The one I have dries white and would not work because it would cover the colour, however the clear shouldn't do that. HMMM that could be a neat thing to try. Thanks for commenting and watching, Valerie

  • @LuvBugCrafts I have to smile here because I never made the comment. However your reply came up on my channel as it appears someone else has the same name as me. All very intriguing. You're more likely to catch me with a pint of beer down the boozer than fidling about with embossing paste and stencils lol.

  • @Enquiringmind777 OMG, that is too funny, I checked out your channel before I made the comment and thought to myself, well maybe you were getting into crafting !! too funny, we could always decorate your beer mug!! Thanks for responding, interesting how this linked in. Have a great day! Valerie

  • Which is the kind of paste you use first in this video ??? I know that there are collored pastes. So, why use an uncollored paste and then use a collored emossing powder ???

  • @GAMINDORE Hi, thanks for watching and asking your question. The embossing paste that I use is Dreamweaver. You are right there are many coloured embossing pastes however I can't afford all the colours that I like so using the white allows me to switch it up to any colour while saving on the pocketbook :). take care, Valerie

  • I never heard of that paste til I saw this video. Thanks so much for doing this

video & sharing such a great tip with us. :)

  • @KraftyKatsy Hi Katsy, I was surprised to when I first saw it in the store but find that I am really liking it. I went and bought another stencil the other day and will be trying that soon too! My pleasure doing the video it was a lot of fun, thanks for your comments and hope you are doing well! enjoy the weekend. Valerie

  • OMG! tfs. i didn't even know about embossing paste. i love the raised look. it's really cool. can i use the paste with just reagular stamps? - alli

  • @papercraftdoll Hi Alli, I know isn't this awesome, I just found it in a local scrapbook store and decided to give it a try and I love it! I don't think you would be able to use stamps as with the stencil you are spreading it in the holes and then leaving the design in place once you remove the stencil..the paste dries fast, don't know if your stamp would get damaged or not?hmmm... I don't know :) I will have to try it, if it works I will let you know!! thanks for watching, Valerie

  • What a great technique! I do a lot of embossing but with versamark! I MUST get some of that paste!

  • @mantecawife Hi I use versamark for most of my embossing too but find that this embossing paste gives you so much more dimension, it is awesome:)! I actually inked and distresssed the tag I used in the tutorial and found that the embossed image resists the ink colours as well just like regular embossing, too cool! thanks for watching and commenting. Valerie

  • Love the embossing paste, great tutorial!! Where did you buy the embossing paste? We only have a Micheals for craft supplies. TFS.

  • @TheJbrideau Hi! thanks so much I appreciate you watching and commenting :) I bought the embossing paste at a local craft store here in town. I would think that Michaels probably has it too though. The brand I bought was Dreamweaver but I am sure most brands are probably as good. Good luck and have fun! Valerie

  • wow so pretty, looks like the paste goes a long way too. tyfs

  • @boocali Hi boocali! :) The paste is a lot of fun to work with and yes it goes a very long way. You actually use very little and as long as you scrape it off and put it back in the container (and put the lid on so it doesn't dry out) I think it will last for as long as you need it :). thanks for your comment, have a great day! Valerie

  • so loved it it was awesome i hope i can find that emb. paste thanks for sharing love the music have a great week

  • @QuiltingConnieB Hi Connie, thanks for checking out the video and commenting, I appreciate it and am glad you liked it! Let me know if you have trouble finding the paste, it should be at a local scrapbook store. I hope you and your family had a wonderful 4th of July! Valerie

  • Oh my, thats so pretty. Thank you for sharing. Where did you buy your paste? Have a great holiday.

    Donna:):)

  • @123cardmaker Hi Donna, Happy 4th of July!! I hope you and your family are having a great day. We just celebrated Canada Day on the 1st. we had so much fun :) Thank you for watching and commenting on my video I appreciate it. I purchased the embossing paste at a local scrapbook store here in town but am sure that the stores near you would carry it. Let me know if you have problem finding it. Here in Canada the little jar was $10.50 I would assume it would be around $5.00 for you. :) Valerie

  • LOVE IT! What a fantastic look it gives. Thanks so much for sharing this technique. Brenda

  • @snowcrystal05 Hi Brenda, I am so glad you like it, thank you for watching my video and commenting I do appreciate it. I took another look at the butterflies this morning and sure enough they are still nice and puffy, I thought they may flatten a bit over time but nope!! they are soooo dimensional I love it!! take care, Valerie

  • Lovely technique, I will try this myself, tfs Very good I must say :)

  • @Jennings644 Hi Fiona, thank you for watching, I can't wait to see what you come up with! There is so many possibilities with this with regards to colours, stencils etc. Have fun!! Valerie

  • Hi, Love this embossing paste. I'm going to buy one. I love your stencil too, it's beautiful. Thank you for showing.

    Paveena:)

  • @myautumnsunset Hi Paveena, I am happy that you like this technique, I have a bunch of little brass stencils (mainly Christmas designs) and finally I think I have a way of using them!! I can't wait to see what you do with your embossing paste as you are so talented!! Thank you, Valerie

  • @LuvBugCrafts Hi Valerie, I hope I could work on the paste as neat as you are, cause I'm a bit clumsy though, hehe. Thank you for your sweet comment!

    Paveena :)

  • @myautumnsunset LOL I am sure you will be great Paveena! just clear the decks and let'er rip!! it's all good :) have fun! Valerie

  • Great idea with the stencil paste, I have some and never used it, I'll have to get it out now :-)

  • @cindysms Hi thanks for watching my video :) I was surprised at how easy it was to use the paste. It would look better if the paper under it was a different colour or distressed but for sharing purposes it worked out fine. I am glad you like the idea and hopefully you break yours out!! lol. ;) Valerie

  • That is cool! TFS By the way, what music is that? Medicine woman??? Sounds like them... Thanks

  • @punkynpunkin Thanks for your comment I really do appreciate it. As for the music I couldn't tell you who or what it is as I did an audio swap within You Tube and listened to a bunch of music before I picked this one and by that time I don't know where I was?? (It's in audio swap somewhere.... sorry I am of no further help!) take care, Valerie
