  • I saw X in Bakersfield on monday and they rocked. I also got to meet the band members and john doe was a pretty nice guy.

  • This man is holding the mantle that Woody Guthrie started-Americana hero, badass rocker, and a man who still has his marbles after 30 years in the business. Songwriting genius and harrowing harmonizer with the great Exene, John Doe is someone I admire.

  • x's music is too hard, too wild, too insane, too dirty. i love it.

JD is one of the best lyricists of all time!!!!!!!!

  • i cribbed the "too hard, too wild, too insane, too dirty" from Ray Manzarek

  • i love him

  • i saw john doe with the blasters a few months ago at redondo beach! Front row..................great times!

can't wait to see X at the ink N iron!!!!

  • LOVE THIS GUY LOVE THE GROUP

  • BILLY ZOOM is like really old!

like 10 years older than most first generation punks

  • @happycrazedyouth he's THAT cool.

  • X is ageless, Billy is ageless and sadly, so is stupidity.

  • Hey John Doe is the Brother of Dill! how amazing...

  • Ha ha.

  • I Love X.....I Saw Them Live in 89! And Shook John's Hand it was Awesome! Now days I just listen to My X Collection on Vinyl~

  • I am still listening to X, Dead Boys, and the Germs.... it never gets boring...

  • He played in One Tree Hill hu?

  • Oh and yes, X was indeed Life Changing for me!

  • Great video. I LOVE John Doe!

  • what a man. thanks john doe-you make me proud to be a part of your music, and to be on the same planet with you and your hungry wolves.

  • i love x but i like romones also but all us punk rockers need to face are worst enimy avrial laugin (the person whos sings skater boy and girlfreand) wene the hell did that become punk

  • One of the best all time bands. Checkout the movie "Border Radio" and see Mr Doe along with Chris D. and Dave Alvin. Thenk you sir for 'Fourth of July'

  • X= Best band EVER.

    No limos, egos, or labels.

Just hard core music & lyrics.

Thanks Exene, John, Billy , and D.J.

    For making music that matters.

  • Nobody's forcing you to listen to it. Fuck off then.

  • Why don't you use proper English?

    What do you listen to?

Why do nonwhites always call us 'crackers' unprovoked? No one called you a slur. Why do you have to go there?

I bet that you're twelve-years-old and not 18 like your profile says.

  • Love X! Listening to them to this day! I saw them in Fresno in 94...it was great. The sing about what is in some of us.

  • What? Why? What's the reasoning behind your comment?

  • It is impossible to overstate what this man's music has meant to me. In the depths of my loneliness, this voice kept me company. I first saw X in 1987 and then saw John Doe at McCabe's Guitar Shop (Santa Monica) countless times. His solo albums are fantastic. Now I sing his songs to my children as they fall asleep at night. What a catalog of music and what a treasure of words and emotions. This man was alt country long before they had a name (cowpunk?). No labels and no boundaries.

  • No doubt changed my life forever!!! One of the GREATEST bands of all times seen them 30 or 40 times and they never got old !! Im pushing 50 I listen to a tune and it takes me back to the good old day .... I have met them all and there all good souls . Long Live X Louie from the IE

  • Yes, X did change my life! Love this man. Great respect! Thanks for posting!

  • what a difference. you should check out joanne tickle's vid of John Doe and The Sadies...wow!

  • I've loved him for almost 30 years, since I lived in LA 1980-1984. Going to see him play a very small show in Freehold, NJ on July 27th, can't wait!

  • Thanks for this video! I was fortunate to meet John after his show at McCabe's a couple of weeks ago. He is so down to earth, so real, so unpretentious, so easy to talk to ... he is a rare gem. Love him!

  • Thank you for bringing this here! ~Fabulous!

  • John Doe is a great musician and one hell of a nice guy. Funny too.

  • He rocked in "Roadhouse".

  • great insight. i'm going to see him with wilco in a few weeks. i loved dimstars, bright sky and all his solo stuff.

  • GREAT VIDEO!

  • Brilliant interview! John Doe has matured as an artist, without being boring, like some of his contemporaries.

  • To me, X was always about heart. True Heart and really the essence of L.A. during a really cool, if not somewhat twisted era.

  • legend of what? rock music

  • ı am nao

  • Every time I hear "The World's a Mess..." from X..it reminds me of the first time I heard it..yes..LIFE CHANGING.
