theres rst (which i dont recommend), sram/rockshocks,( which has good website), suntour, (which i cant even find) and fox, (i think only sells in cali.) the cheapest fox springs you can buy are 400.oo, dont know about the air.
Some coiled suspensions like the basic & sturdy RST T7 (ideal for hybrids and cross country) have a "preload" knob to adapt the shock absortion to one's weight. From minimum to max clockwise and viceversa. A click lets you know when it's fixed to min or max.
those forks of cheap mtbs in asia usually dont have a oil rebound,lol...this is what defferent from the developed mtb market in the west...wait,those two stuff in the vid is called mtb???...
what? how did this turn into riding "pro mtb"? haha and as for cash I don't have a lot seeing I'm doing some traveling and am a student.. but I managed to build up a Devinci Ollie with an'07 rc2x it's a nice rig.. I'm no "pro mtb'er" like yourself but I do know that most big brands -- most recently marzocchi, has made the move over to asia for manufacturing. Also, as anybody that had 2 cents to put together would know that all the low-end department store bikes have been made in Asia for decades
Yeah...I tell ya, a really good fork USED to cost about 400 bucks. Much like the gas companies, the big component folks found out that people will pay more for components and have jacked up the prices. I am sure there are technological advancements etc in the last 5 years to justify some added cost...but c'mon...700 bucks for an XC fork!? You have to be straight SHITTING me.
Yeah fork prices are kinda bullshit, a few guys at some of my LBS's told me that a decent fork would be $400 and UP... what makes it even more retarded is the fact that a fork is something you should NOT skimp on when it comes to quality. Ebay is your best friend in this case :P

Just starting out and trying to decipher shocks...
How much better would a RS Silver Recon TK be over a RS Tora TK on a 29" ride?
Is $150 difference in price enough to make the jump? I'm new and buying my first bike and trying to research before I buy.

Actually dirt jumping forks usually have very little travel (80mm-100mm) and are more rigid
