I agree with the notion of the LDS leaders following some sort of script. The one that floored me was, "What if it WERE all made up, isn't it still a good way to raise your kids?" Wow.
The only true church finds nothing wrong at all in remaining silent as Harry Reid works night and day with President Obama to dismantle America. This has revealed to me a different church than my father knew and loved.
A friend of mine was involved with a girlfriend of his. He and his girlfriend were sexually inactive but were getting to close. He was disires to go on a mission so he went to the bishop. He called his girlfriends parents and told them they are having sex and should be seperated. This drove the 2 out of the church. This drove me out of the church.
I can identify with Mr. Lamborn here because when I decided I was no longer a Christian [though I have never voiced it, I have only made hints because I am fearful of the way my family will react...], my mom would ask me who I've been talking to, what I've been reading, the kind of movies I've been watching...When people come to sincere realizations of what they believe to be true or not, someone always plays them on how it couldn't possibly be their own ideas.... it's sad, really....

Um, Jenifer, I'm no longer a Mormon, but I got news for you. Mormons are Christians. (I don't defend them but will for this). They believe in Christ as their Savior just as you do. Whatever that's supposed to mean. They may have some different doctrine than you, but they are still Christians.

You would think by his presentation.. that the Bishop had a sheet of paper sitting on his desk.. and was asking questions off of it. I think that any person.. including myself.. would have asked the very same questions and I have no paper in front of me. I find no fault with what the bishop asked.
I agree. I found no fault with the questions the bishop asked. They were normal and anticipated. It was never personal either, which I mentioned in my talk. All my bishops and stake presidents are good men. They are just handicapped by the distorted world view of Mormonism, but do the best they can under the circumstances. The questions were articulated in order that the audience remember what these interviews were like, and what they might expect if they choose to walk my path.
If I started teaching re-incarnation in Priesthood or in a talk in Sacrament Meeting.. would you think I should be ex-communicated? I do. But the only way they would find out I believe that is 1. If I told them.. or 2. If I started teaching it. I don't feel the need to share every truth I discover. New truths added to me do not make the teachings of the past any less true. Even the Apostles in the time of Christ were taught line upon line. So was Joseph Smith.

I have chatted with Lyndon before. It was just one condescending rabbit hole after another. The constant condescending thinking was similar to the pictures in this presentation.
Lyndon showed great respect for the ecclesiastic authority, yet they seem to have been acting under a set of guidelines calculated to smear egg on the face of their organization.
This guy is clearly an intelligent and persuasive speaker. I just don't understand why many more Mormons ignore so much evidence.
