  • Kool chizz = )

  • Regret Schubert. He isn't guilty in your cretinism!!!

In the play beginning there is a rate! It write specially for such clever men, as you! And still listen, as it plays Rastropovich, and change a trade is better!!!

  • !!! THE BEST!!!

  • Your playing is a little too harsh. It ought to flow more smoothly.

  • I agree. Nothing wrong at all with Yamaha. That's my normal concert horn, but I played a Series II for a while too. VERY small differences...both are great.

  • First time hearing this on sax.....so cool :)

  • good tone but... yamaha??

change to selmer... ohh and watch out the fortissimos...

  • I guess rousseau and kenneth tse need new horns.

  • yamaha's are good. what's your problem?

  • Fantástico, me encanta. Soy saxofonista desde los 7 años y ahora tengo 20 y me ha gustado mucho esta obra y su interpretación. Me gustaría conseguir la obra para poder tocarla. Enhorabuena y sigue así, un saludo

  • sounds surprisingly better than I expected from a saxaphone on this piece. I personally don't like it much for the higher parts, but I love your sound.

  • it/s the most serious play by saxophone i've ever seen. i prefer this to kenny g, seriously.

  • Intonation isn't good and I don't like this interpretation. The sound it's very bad.

  • Wonderful performance! I never expected the alto sax to be a suitable vehicle for this piece, but really, it is quite charming. You have a beautiful tone and excellent control, and the pizzacato effect was creative. Looking forward to Part II!

  • Every instrument has its pros and cons and we should be thankful that we have people who can play them well and expressively. Based on these comments, it seems as though some people are jealous of this person. Grow up and go practice your own technique!!!!

    jaja

    saludos desde euskal herria!

    agur! abur! asta logiñoÇ!jaja

  • nice nice nice I like it very much played very good.

Would it be possible to get the sheet music (notesO) please

  • looks like the crowd left before you even started! But other than that it was very nice.

  • The music is great! Classical Saxophone!!!!!

  • I would like to hear just a little more refinement in your classical style...it sounds very choppy to me. Go either with the French style vibrato/tone or German...or something. It sounds like it's all thrown together kind of quickly and chaotically! But overall your playing is nice...just needs some minute finishes!

  • u suck

  • There's more to sax than jazz asshole.

  • Very nice interpretation of the piece. Varied technique makes the piece exciting & pleasant to listen to. You have a very passionate style. Post more of your recitals if there are more available :)

  • I love this song very much ar!!!

    thx for sharing!

    you play very good ar!!!^^

could you let me know where did you get the score?

you buy it or arrange it?

    thx again!

  • Thanks for the comment! To get the score, I asked a cello teacher who knew a viola teacher who had it... I didn't arrange very much the piece. I only changed the octave in some passages, add slap to emulate the strings' pizzicato... I wanted to make a version with the thinks I like from different recordings, but staying personal.

  • @Galans Please can you give the score?

  • If anyone knows where i could possibly find this chart for alto, please let me know..Thanks

  • so I've listened to this piece about a dozen times now and I really like it, you play it very well. Only one opinion, when you go up high in the altissimo range, make sure you stay in tune, other than that it was beautiful. I love this piece and was wondering where you got it from, or if you could send it to me via email. Thanks...

  • you should add more vibrato

  • What is your setup?

  • Hi. Please go to the second part of this video. There is a post-answer where you can read my setup.

  • you deserve an audience bigger then that!

  • pa ucrania

  • awsome job

  • Not bad, but you can tell this is definitely a piece not meant for saxophone. You should watch the cello version

  • no you can't, its possible you have never heard saxophone music before, or maybe listen to another performance.

  • I think your opinion is a little biased mr. tenorsaxomaniac lol

  • and since my opinion is biased, or maybe just more knowledgeable, this piece is not very technically difficult, has a limited range, doesnt require virtuosity in the higher registers, and uses no extended techniqes.

  • its also not meant for the cello, it was for Arpeggione, which in case you didnt know has frets, and is tuned like a guitar in 4ths. there is nothing unsaxophonistic in this piece. besides octave transpositions in some places, there is nothing indicative of a non saxophone piece. I might ask you what in the piece is unsaxophonic?

  • I know much about this piece, I have played it before, and I know exactly what an arpeggione is. The arpeggione, however, had a guitar like sound, and the instrument that sounds most like guitar other than guitar itself especially in terms of warmth and resonance is cello. It is unsaxophonic simply becaused the piece was intended for a bowed instrument. On saxophone there is no resonance, and the tone is just completely not appropriate for this piece.

  • I love strings instruments but if I heard a piece originally for saxophone transposed for violin, viola, or cello I more than likely wouldn't say that it sounded better on strings. I think almost anyone would agree that this piece sounds better on cello than any other instrument except perhaps viola, in which case the opinion really is completely subjective because both instruments have a sound that is appropriate to this piece.

  • THere is resonance on the saxophone, and i believe that you are forgetting that your opinion is also subjective in terms of warmth, and you have no idea what tone quality schubert wanted. ONe could also argue that unless it is played on a period piano, that is doesnt have the same sound, becuase they too sound completely different, differnet resonance and timbre.

  • There is no resonance on saxophone. If you play a note and then stop the saxophone itself does not continue to vibrate. Are you seriously trying to say that this carries itself well on saxophone?

  • The saxophone does continue to vibrate, if it didnt resonate sound wouldnt come out. If you let the saxophone resonate it will, if you choke the end of the note stopping all air, it wont, becuase the tube was cut off. It might be a different resonance, but it certainly resonates. and yes i am, even if this player is not that good. I think it is a poor utilization of the instrument, but i do think it carries well.

  • Well I guess it's just your opinion then, but I do believe there are actual solid facts that support my viewpoint

  • i also have solid facts.. the metal vibrates, and doesnt just stop. thats not an opinion, the saxophone resonates, if not it would make a sound.

  • this guy just cant play in tune, and has lacking technique, but it is not as if cellists play more in tune, there tuning problems just occur in different places such as in the middle of lines, not at the ends. It seems accepable for cellist to play almost a quartone off in quick passages, and at least 10-20 cents.. this is not considered acceptable tuning for saxophones. Dont judge the saxophone by someones inability to play it.

  • metal vibrates, but not in the same way as wood. and besides, i'm not even talking about technique, there are tons of cellists who play out of tune, I'm talking about actual music making

  • It's obvious you do not understand how sound is produced in either wind instruments or string instruments.

  • Well then, how do you account for Richard Stoltzman's spectacular performance of Arpeggione on the clarinet? It has the same restrictions of resonance as does the saxophone.

  • lol, yes, obviously I don't understand how sound is produced in either string or wind instruments. It doesn't matter what you say, wind players are always biased, string instruments resonate more than wind instruments do, it's a fact. Why don't you strum a string on a guitar and see how long it resonates. And I don't believe that there is even such a thing as a "spectacular performance of Arpeggione on clarinet", so your point is invalid

  • He's an extremely good artist, but if you know the piece, it sounds horrible on the sax, it just doesn't work, there is no Schubert feeling. Just because it is possible to play it on the sax doesn't mean someone should. It sounds sounds g awful in places because of the lack of resonance.

  • AbsoluteZ3R0, let me wade into this rather tepid discussion to point out that 1. the arpeggione does not really sound much like a guitar; 2. a cello or viola will stop resonating quickly when the bow stops moving (pizzacato dies down fairly quickly on any non-open string as well); 3. transcription of classical music for other than the original instrument is a respected tradition, like it or not. Everyone's opinion in this is subjective, there is no objective "better" or "worse".

  • lewin you

  • rubio tube

  • where's the audience????

  • XD ! I wasn't play to nobody! If you make attention, right at the front you could see three little people I shocked in the fortissimos... I apologies for that. The other people were in the back row, near the camera. And so, my brother didn't switch his mobile off and I hope the interference don't bother you. My brother bother you?

  • Very nice!

  • Nice... rythm moves too much for my taste outside of the regular ritardandos.

  • wonderful

  • Very cool sound man. Thumbs Up!!

  • very nice
