Culture jamming happens because ads cannot survive in a world of contrary messages; because that spurs thought, and thought interferes with buying. Look at the art for new cars: you never see another make of car in the ad. So to the extent that companies control the visuals in reality, buying activity is smoothened.
If this video caused even one idiotic 'tagger' to think a little more about how they will vandalize (maybe with some sort of 'message') in the future, then it was worth it. Vandalism will always exist, at least the girl was trying to be thought provoking.
Late 60s and early 90s were great times. Once again, it has become grossly unpopular it is to question authority or stand up for political, feminist, environmental etc issues.
These youtube comments are a great example of this.
The CULTURE JAMS AT ME! She said it all. The Luddites throwing a wrench in the machinery. Christ Puncher!!!! I wonder how long it took for her to move on to the next trend in bullshit activism. Crying for cancer. Dancing away religion. Hugging race records? You ever notice that the amount of lisp you have dictates how much of a pompous asshole you are?
I understand your frustration. Marketing is excessive and pervasive. However, as a citizen -and consumer- the best thing you can do is A.) not buy the product, and B.) raise awareness about consumption. Although you must elect the appropiate channels, and I am not sure that defacing the ads is the best one. No sé...I think you can foment a conscious dissidence without appealing to those tactics -through the internet and other medium. Salud.
Yeah! I love being edgy! Lol! I love to destroy signs and write on them! Makes me feel like I'M in control and I have power! >:D I laugh at you hoodlums.
The main female throughout this vid is AWESOME!!!! I would SO love to have a girlfriend (or just friend!) who has that kind of substance... I applaud you girlfriend!!!

Man, that add really bugs me. I think it looked at me funny. That add needs to be deconstructed.
