  • I have much respect 4 this band for influencing so many poppunk bands i like today

  • so damn ahead of there time.

  • i love how everybody grew up on this band, definately- punk saved my life, but the descendents enhanced my troubled youth. every song is memories.

  • band did change my life - first "punk" show i ever saw in 1985/86 on Enjoy tour. they were punk within punk for being so punk to see about real life feelings and not just lame macho crap...they taught a lot of us that it was ok to feel shitty about a girl, etc.

  • i grew up skating to this band...they are my whole youth ....they made me wanna band/skate a girlfriend everything

  • Milo mailed this video to my friend on VHS about 15 years ago along with a autographed i dont want to grow up shirt no joke!

  • ive been listening to the descendents since I wa like a pre-teen. but their music didn't really hit me till there was something that had happened to me where I could really relate to one of their songs. now there are so many of their songs that when I listen to them, it reminds me of something I went through. I loved reading that Milo said all the songs he writes involve something that had actually happened to him. the songs just hit you that much harder. milo knows you!

  • apparently there are a lot of 11 year olds commenting on this video.. I mean really.. name one fricken band out there with this style and structure! cmon kids pull the song apart and take a closer look..

  • this is nothing like pop punk of today! are you guys retarded??

  • so ahead of there time simply awesome

  • i know a place, up in the air it's not very far, i've been there before i know a place, cool and warm cooling my blood, warming my heart so come on down and walk with me, and tell me i'm your man i only want to know a couple of things about you where were you when i was in so much trouble with myself and do you still believe in me like i believe

  • ramones o caralho, aqui é descendents porraaaaaaaaa

  • the descendents, the catcher in the rye and john huges movies. thats the stuff that gets me through my teens

  • Comment removed

  • bill fucking stevenson man. he never faltered with his right hand. he played every high hat hit and never cheated. also what's up with the hatred for new pop punk. check out the ergs. they kill it.

  • Bill Stevenson, hell yeah! And the ergs! one of my favorite bands, hope they'll get back together and make a new record.

  • one of my top 10 favorites of alltime for sure DESCENDENTS!

  • wow! i'm really impressed with the audio quality! its way better than i expected! ~xo

  • i'd give my right nut to be there

  • Descendants are 1 of my favorite band of all time.

  • This band got me through my teenage years and I still love them 25 years later..

no gimmicks no bullshit just pure music . I swear i thought every song was written about me it was so endearing Got to see ALL once in Australia but would have killed to Milo in action Much respect to the descendants

  • @johnnycashconverter amen. i remember listening to this album (don't wanna grow up) in my bed before school in 8th grade. god so many great memories. they really will make you see the value of pop music in punk

  • @allea365 I hated 8th grade, so many bad mem....

  • AWESOME!! Still wish I can see em live someday :)

  • well now we know where that jack ass from weezer got his look from

  • @nugbutt buddy holly?

  • Bill Stevenson is the greatest drummer ever. I seriously mean it. I don't care how many beats a minute the metal fucks can play. His drumming is so solid.

  • i LOVE the wrong chord at 0:44, are there still hardcore clubs around?

  • I Don't Want To Grow Up!

  • this music is timeless. love it!

  • wish music like this was popular..

  • @merrimankaylynn The beauty of it, is because it's not popular. If I mass amounts of people wearing Descendents or ALL shirt, I'd be pissed.

  • @mongoxstomp same here man

  • they're as popular as they wana be, if they wanted to be in the light 24/7 itd be easy for em. but personally i love the fact of knowing bands that 'havent been discovered' (or underground).

just like the lawrence arms,NOFX,bad religion etc

  • AWESOME!

  • So awesome how dude is like, "Umm, I'm gonna need a bass amp" at the end of the song. These guys will rule forever.

  • This song sounds so modern day pop punk it's not even funny. Little did the audience know they were hearing what punk rock would sound like 20 years later! Funny how I like them so much when I dislike so much of the newer pop punk bands that basically steal their sound.

  • @unfortunatebeam They were definitely ahead of their time.

  • @coley4545 are u kidding me...they belong in that era

if they would have came out now theyd most likely do a song with lil wayne

  • @unfortunatebeam Modern pop-punk sucks and sounds nothing like this

  • @dubified89 Thank you for putting it so brilliantly XD

  • @unfortunatebeam this was punk, now it's corporate rock that sounds like this.

sad fucking day hen punkrock became a product for the MTV generation

  • @unfortunatebeam this is kinda creepy when you put it this way. it's like they predicted the future or something lol. i think the difference between their pop punk like songs and the nowadays pop punk songs is descendents just happened to write a song like that, and a lot new bands we have right now are trying too hard putting their sounds into this format or something

  • @unfortunatebeam While we were living through this we call it "Soft Core".

  • way back into 1987 punk band ^^

  • I'm new to descendents, can't get enough of them, this is one of my favorite songs, thanks for posting.

  • One of the best song of pop-punk-rock ever

  • the thing that amazes me is that the descendents songs sounds like, way better live than they do in the record

  • Descendants are one of the only reasons I wish I was born earlier than 1987 so I could experience the true greatness on stage

  • milo voice sounds even better live! loove this song!

  • DAMN!!

I would cut off my fingers to see Descendents live. I fucking love them. Watching this video makes me sad... :o(

  • Yeah. To bad that the guitarist died..

  • @StaleCroissant

thats not the same guitarist in the video you know?

but overall frank was apart of the original line-up ...rip Frank N.

  • @MrSodaBelly

Yeah I know. I didn't mean "that guitarist"

I thought i said Frank Navetta.

Thank you for the correction though. :)

  • @StaleCroissant

    your welcome..

  • Just love this band-love this song.

  • Don't Want To Grow Up is such a terribly underrated album. I'm so glad they never tried to live up to a "punk ideal" and just played heartfelt music. This band will change your life if you give them the chance.

  • @cardigansarecool Agreed. I started listening to the Descendents when I was 13. I Don't Want to Grow Up was the first record of theirs that I bought and it's my favorite. This band changed my life.

  • @cardigansarecool You're so fucking right... in everything! jaja

  • @cardigansarecool

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG OMFG. You said it so perfect man. Perfect.

  • @cardigansarecool

I grew up w/ this band. I think they did change my life.

  • and as a bonus to us musicians, they could really play their instruments! sorry, korn, but my keyboard doesn't have a backwards "k".

  • GREATNESS ON A STAGE.

The most magnificent use of electricity in our lifetime.

    Timeless.

They should've been bigger than Jupiter.

  • this song is amazing

  • Milo is wearing a Bad Brains t shirt. By the way, nice vocal harmonies. Even better than the record.

  • r a d n e s s

  • yeah if there was ever like a top 10 of best punk albums ever Milo goes to college would defintely be in it.

  • there's a similar live version on "hallraker" good shit i think that ones almost better than liveage

  • love that song and the whole record too!!!!!!!!! ...but MILO GOES TO COLLEGE remains the best!!!!!!!!!

  • AHHH AGREEEEEEEEEEEEEED<3

  • if this had higher quality sound, this would be the studio version hands down

  • FODA

  • This sounds great live. I can't believe I missed them when they toured in 1997. I was in the eighth grade and couldn't get a ride, LOL

  • I went and it was one of the best experiences of my youth. I was 18.

  • Frank Navetta has passed over guys, R.I.P. great guitarist and founding member...

  • Just read about it now, sad : /

  • damn that fucking sucks, i love the descendents! they're my little heart, hehe

  • the dude that beat your ass is a tool. and these days he's probably a fat ass sporting a neck thicker than a goodyear tire. fuck him. you were cool and still are.

  • descendents were the sheet. i jammed to them on the school bus when i was 13.
