Very cool. One of my favorite Zep tunes. However I don't think you talked about the slight hi-hat releases Bonham does. It really adds to the song. Also, there is the most tasty fill at about 3:30 in the song. I've listened to it over and over when I first learned this song about 18 years ago and I think it goes (forgive my crummy notation) BD-SD-SD-BD-FT-BD-SD-SD-BD-SD(flam). I've found that Audacity is a great tool for dissecting drum parts. You can slow down parts & then correct the pitch.
@fuhkinay I checked the video... I address that fill (the 3:30 to which you're referring) at 24:00 in the video. I may have put it as occurring at a later point in the song than it does however..
at first your start/stop/start play & comment was difficult for me, now it's not. Like so many, always look forward to you uploads as they are my favorite and you help me a great deal in perspective and technique AND appreciation. Thank you and keep it going !!!
You demonstrated very well how the swing element is very important in playing the drum part of this particular Led Zeppelin track! :-) I had a good Thanksgiving, hope you did too, Terry.
Great video as always Terry - they always make me a) want to listen to the original, and b), pick up my drum sticks :-)
Favourite part though is at 28:22, "Ya know I don't know. I wasn't sitting next to the guy when he recorded it". Classic. Also, you really nail that fill around 24:40, awesome.
@bonzoleum Sounds like a lot of fun - hope you had a good one Terry! BTW, I love the groove you play around 21:44. Had a go at it earlier and it's trickier than it looks but a lot of fun when you get it and sounds pretty cool too.

@fuhkinay I definitely need to get & learn Audacity. Did I not address the 3:30 fill? I thought I did.

@andybuk71 The iMac is treating me well! I briefly had a problem with my Vado camera but I managed to sort it out. How was your Thanksgiving?

@bonzoleum Good to hear it :-) We don't have Thanksgiving in the UK - you'll have to explain it to us Brits!

I'd love to see you play a full Zeppelin song, no guitars or vocals, just the drums. Like an isolated track.

Great job as always Terry! Why don't you do a video on how Bonham tuned his studio Kick and Toms? You covered his snare tuning, which is also great.
Cheers,
Greg
