  • 2:20. Oh my god. That was so deep.

  • I'd love to poke shit and not get in trouble for it :3

  • WHOLEY CHEESY LORD :O !!!!!!!!!!

  • i wanna be a Porcupine

  • poor dog

  • thats poor girl ): , if that happend to my dog .. id probably go suicide.

  • The dog is strong !. it endures the pain

  • I did a project on Porcupines when I was a sophomore in high school. Porcupine quills, which are made out of keratin (same thing as your fingernails and hair), are actually hollow. If you don't get them removed quickly they fill up with blood, and travel deeper into the victim. Nasty porcupines.

  • @DGregster Thanks for the facts! Very cool.

  • i feel so sorry for the dog goes the dog want a cookie

  • My name is James and i am a vet too. As you can see in my previous comment i cried. That is painful to watch and to see. But it is nothing compared to what i saw 2 years ago. They brought in a dog that had over 2,000, yeah, 2,000 needles in its face. Talk about crying, that dog was twitching on the table as i removed them. But the funny thing is, after we removed them all, the dog was fine. It acted as if it never happened. It was smiling? yeah, brave and non- fearful dog.

  • @SpencerThe2nd Huge amount of needles! Glad you could help the poor dog! Feels good, doesn't it?

  • oh my gosh pause at 0:39, i cried! :(

  • WTF DOC!!!!!!!!!! No Gloves???????!!!

  • @Smokeyb33r Dirty porcupine quills. Washed hands...but gloved up for surgery

  • @Smokeyb33r 1:38 go gloves :)

  • i cried while watching this poor baby D:

  • =( Poor dog )=

  • =(

  • น่าสงสารจังหายไวไวนะ

  • holy shit

  • What breed is that dog?

  • @karatedofan Shepherd cross

  • awwww :( poor girl

  • aaaaww poor doggy i hope she is ok now

  • :/ this is what happened to my dog...but he got his infected and we had to put him down

  • @yourmymockingbird That would have tore my heart out to do that.

  • 1:53 he is out cold

  • i fell very bad about that dog i wonder how its doing now

  • Ouch! Im sure he wont do that again though.

  • i hope she is ok i have a dog and a cat bit her in her lower artery shes ok but this is more horrible

  • Poor baby :(

  • O_O it reminds of my dog messing wif my baby porcupine she didn't mean too. but she recovered soon :D But thiis is just sad ouo !! DX

  • THIS MADE ME START CRYING . I CAN FEEEEEEl her pain . omg . D:

  • D :

  • the dog was totally high XD... but still way a shame

  • Poor dog.

  • Is she ok now? Does she have some problems in her mouth??

  • @Keatzrockz She should be OK, she was from out of town.I'll probably not see her again. Maybe I'll call him that owns her. Sounds like a relationship, doesn't it?

  • My God why so much blood?! Seems an awful lot for pulling out such relatively small things...

  • @TheDurationPlusFive The head receives more than its share of blood. Any injuries to the skin, lips, tongue, nose really bleed. In reality what looks like a lot of blood when it spreads out, is not very much in volume.

  • oof that must have hurt

  • if something like this happens again, make sure the vet wears gloves.

  • @HayleywHANGOVER I wear gloves for surgery, but not all minor procedures to pull out the quills. Thanks for the comments!

  • @DrGregDVM ah, okay then :) i just worry about blood and infections and stuff like that

  • @DrGregDVM oh my god that looks painful

  • HOLY SHHHHHH

  • 0:43 shes like ohhhh yeahhhhh

  • oh no :( poor doggy

  • This vet is so stupid. You can just just the tips of the spines off because the quills have suction. If you cut off the tips and pull, it will cause less irritation, and it's a lot easier. I hate stupid people like this.

  • @22BOOBUG22 no idea what the hell you're saying.

  • @22BOOBUG22 You must hate lots of stupid people. Here I am, a vet in a successful practice and now you tell me I'm stupid. Guess I should just quit! You must have pulled out lots more than I have, I've only pulled out spines from two dogs. By the way,the quills have barbs, not suction. It does not deflate them to cut them and cause less irritation.

  • @22BOOBUG22 just just the tips of the spines? WTF does that mean?

  • awww i hope she/he was ok

  • @123imwatchingyou He recovered well!

  • @DrGregDVM im glad he did

  • So, this is a wicked and extremely informative channel. I've just subscribed. =)

  • @tashybellgoesrawr I put up vids of my daily experiences. Hope you enjoy it !

  • ไอเหี้ย น่าสงสารอ่าาาาาาาา

  • ¨what happend lol

  • Poor doggy!:(

  • 2:18 MEG USTA

  • Pretty. What breed?

  • @TheTextingNeko German Shepherd cross. Ex-porcupine hunting dog

  • Those are huge jeez!

  • @MissingSockk Lot bigger than a splinter or cactus

  • Oh! Poor baby!

  • Awww the poor thing, at least now she knows never to go near again, BUT wow I cant believe how calm she looked though.

  • @Mr77tty Before she went under obv.

  • @Mr77tty Guess she figured staying still is the least painful. She also cooperated

  • THANKS FOR UR WORK!!

  • Oh my goodness that poor dog! Amazing microscope pic! Thanks for sharing!

  • @JudgeSK I was real curious what the spine might look like magnified. I thought it was pretty cool.

  • Ouch!

  • Oh poor puppy! I hope she learned her lesson and didn't have to go through that again.

  • @WhtRabbitBlckSheep Most do! Thanks for watching

  • i remember the day my dog decided to taste a porcupine, she came up to me looking about the same as this dog. she wont go near a dead one now.

  • god damm it, poor dog.

  • freaking hate porcupines man

  • Thats why i never get close to a Porcupine o.o

  • Also the microphone shot of the barb was insightful!

  • @TejasM14 Thanks, I looked at it under the microscope and was amazed! You may be able to see them in a x ray, but only bones and metal show up real well

  • Can you use an xray of specific spots to zone in on the un-visible spines?

  • Awww, poor baby. D:

  • thanks for helping ur a very good doctor

  • Take that you dumb dog! That's what you get for trying to eat a cute porcupine!!!

  • is he just bite the Porcupine?when he open his mouth i can really felt that hurt

  • @puding1229 He tried to bite it, but the spines stopped him

  • 1:53 made me cry look at her face

  • Figlio di puttana chi gli ha fatto questo!

  • Never mess with a porcupine

  • Great to see such a caring owner, full credit!! She will think twice before going after a porcupine now lol.

  • @AussieVR4 He takes good care of his dog! Thanks for watching!

  • that made me cry :(

  • 0:30 The tube sticking out i couldnt help but laugh at the way it looked but still its sad that the poor thing was hurt.

  • 一個英文也看不明...=.=

  • so pity

  • The problem if there are spines that are short enough to be visible to be pulled out. It will still be painful for the lovely dhough

  • @butlugan very true and it would be nearly impossible to pull all those from the roof of the mouth!

  • you can tell who won that brawl

  • Look at her face at 1:53, don't worry she's out : )

  • Awwww poor little love, she looks so sorry for herself.

  • @Yogling They always look pitiful when they are hurt, but she looked better afterward!

  • hella stoned at 0:30, just sayin. Well it looks like it so dont start bitching!!

  • @ida6644567actually hella anesthetized and pain free for surgery

  • น้องเม่นใจร้ายมาก

  • Dx poor doggy! DX

  • ah sigh this is why i love vets <3 im working on being one right now :)

  • @Warriorsandkirby1 Good luck and thanks for watching!

  • Awww , poor baby YALL should be proud of yourself for helping her :)

  • poor dog...

  • @DrGregDVM How long it took? Looks very painfull and how did it got there in the first place?

  • @Bryan9737 From a porcupine that lives in the mountains. It protects itself with it's spines!

  • Ouch...I feel the pain already >.<

  • How did I get from watching glock 18 airsoft guns to this

  • @DrGregDVM I know right?

  • @Bryan9737 What was the question?

  • You saved the dog! :)

  • @Bryan9737 Thats the great part of the job!

  • @AnahiCharles Glad you liked it. Hope it wasn't too gross. Thanks for watching!

  • @DrGregDVM Not at all... I'm also veterinarian, already more than 1 year since I graduated and already seen some nasty cases lol... Your videos are so awesome and would help me a lot... Definetly gonna suscribe. :D keep the awesome work!

  • @AnahiCharles Glad you like them. I'll keep posting to share some of my fun or interesting cases. Where do you work?

  • @DrGregDVM In Mexico, I just opened my own lil clinic, with the basics... when I worked by a non-profit org, my rookie welcome was with an almost strangulated dog with a fused chain on his neck... I was like horryfied but at the same time was kinda excited to take it off and help the doggy and on the way, learn from it. And yeah, your videos are so awesome :D On my rest day I'm gonna sit and watch them all

  • @AnahiCharles What location in Mexico? We have a small house in Baja, near La Paz. Thanks for watching!

  • Omg poor dog, i hope its doin ok, dam those porcipine fuks

  • @chrisjoker777 Just protecting themselves. You would do the same if you were a porcupine.

  • this was soooo sad i almost cried

  • @giacarbonerocks Looks bad but worked out OK

  • they should show the dog awake after. so we can be happy that the dog feels better.

  • @jessdrop I usually try to do that but the dog left before I could. Great suggestion!

  • fuck that porcupine.

did she at least killed it?

  • @Darwin06QL Just protecting itself...no need for profanity. family channel

  • poor dog! you are also an awesome dude for taking your dog to a vet!

  • Aw poor baby :c

  • @KrazyKeke55 She's doing good now

  • aww poor dogie

  • @4everGaga1 She's doing OK now!

  • @DrGregDVM your dog is so cute! =)

  • didn't realise how bad porcupines were...ouch

  • @gingerzeppelin I really didn't either till I saw this! I will definitely keep my distance. On the other hand there is a vid on you tube of a porcupine playing with its owner. They have to wear gloves!

  • Poor doggy D: After this I kept hugging my dog and lecturing her on how porcupines are icky. Yeah. That's how bad it is D: DX

  • @HarryPotterFanatic47 Hope she listened and stays away from these sharp critters

  • thats extreme

  • @phuckingemailmehere stay away from these pokers

  • Hell, I'd glove up regardless. XL purple nurples.

  • @MrPavePaws What is a purple nurple?

  • Anyone else thinking GLOVES DAMN-IT GLOVES?

  • @MrPavePaws This is not really sterile procedure. More bacteria in the mouth than anywhere. I put gloves on to dig the one out from the side.

  • Is it your dog? How its going with it :)

  • @RibberDibber11 Nope this was a clients dog. It left the clinic happy and healthy.

  • @DrGregDVM Glad to hear that.

  • Comment removed

  • dont you have to cut the spines in half so that the air in them can escape and they can shrink a bit to reduce damage coming out? i thought the spines were hollow

  • @rhino2960 The sharp points were embedded in the skin. I looked it up on my veterinary internet site and it was reported that the quills do not deflate when cut. Seems like that was declared a myth.

  • I've heard that if you snip off the tips of the quills with scissors, you realease air pressure inside the quills and then they are much easier to remove.
