A better idea, which won't lead to economic ruin, is to just stop participating in international agreements.
Regarding WW2 - You would do well to remember that the US stayed neutral as well until they were directly attacked. Both the US and Norway were completely within their rights.
I'm happy to say that the Norwegian navy is doing little to keep the high seas safe. The navy is not a police force. On the high seas you should provide for your own security.

The king and most of the government moved to England on June 7 to continue the battle from abroad. June 10 the Norwegian high command gave a limited surrender, meaning they demobilized the army in Norway, but made it clear that Norway, as a state, would still be at war with Germany.

You need to check out Peter Schiff. As a percentage of your GDP, plus the debts owed to GSEs like Fannie and Freddie, and including the yearly trillion dollar deficit spending the US is the largest debter nation in the world and very closely followed by the UK.
Places like Spain etc are only gonna get hit first cause of this currency musical chairs that is being played which happens to be why the US aint falling off a cliff(people are wrongly going to the $ for "protection")
