This is really started to get serious now. Bear Stearns, Lehman, Merrill Lynch all gone. AIG bailed out today by the US government. In April of 2007 AIG was worth $190 billion...now it is worth around $5 billion. That just shows how much of a mess this really is and it is going to take years to clean up. If AIG was not bailed out by the US government then the knock on affects of its collapse would have lead to total economic meltdown.
