  • omg I thought that was Betty Boop's voice until I saw her face :o

  • It took me FOREVER to find this. I originally saw it on Haunted History of Halloween, and could never find exactly where it was from. Then, I saw James Rolfe's review on Monsters Crash the Pajama Party and saw a clip. I feel a little more complete now.

  • "The Monsters Crash the Pajama Party" DVD!

  • As seen on History and A&E's "Haunted History of Halloween"!!

  • History Channel's Halloween special.

  • I love this girls I think Betty was so beautiful I want more videos of the fantastic Brian Sisters I just love them

  • What ever happened to the Brian Sisters ?

  • Their 'grab and fidget' method of expressing fear is utterly charming!

  • This is one of my faves. I wish i could find a digitally remastered version.

  • dis dumb af there is no bugie woogie man df'!

  • @falcor1978 Really? What website was it? Do you have the link? or anything?

  • Are any of them alive? Maybe their mother or father wanted them to be like The Gumm Sisters, Or later on The Garland Sisters.

  • Betty Brian (Gutter) was my Audio Video teacher back in the early 70's at South Torrance High, California. Great teacher and a great lady. She had so many stories.

  • Always loved them since I first saw them in the Our Gang shorts I'd see on tv. This is wonderful. They actually were influenced by The Boswell Sisters as were the Andrews Sisters.

  • Maybe their parents wanted them to be like The Gumm Sisters. That was Judy Garland and her sisters Mary Jane and Suzanne. Suzannes name was originally something else.

  • I unknowingly emailed one of the Brian sisters around Halloween. (I had found a website on them and emailed the websmaster, but he must have forwarded it to her). She said her memory of this is sketchy at best, but she knows it wasn't for a movie and was most likely just a short subject that played in theaters. :)

  • Thanks for sharing that info - it's very interesting.

  • @falcor1978 Really? What website was it? Do you have the link? or anything?

  • @falcor1978 Where and when?

  • @falcor1978 do you have thier contact in any way?

  • @falcor1978 how did you contact them?

  • @Firebrdsuite My falcor account is no longer, so I only just now saw your question. Like I said, I stumbled across a Brian Sisters fansite, about a year ago now, and emailed the administrator to see if he had any further information on this film. About a week later I received a reply, but it was from one of the sisters, so I assume he forwarded it to her. I think it was Doris who wrote me, and she also mentioned that the other two, Betty and Gwen, had passed away.

  • @MikeAM78 what's the email?

  • Anybody know what this is from? A movie?

Had been trying to figure out who these singers/the song was after seeing this clip used in History Channel's "The Haunted History of Halloween."

  • Saw this on the Monsters Crash the Pajama Party DVD today.

  • This music makes me want to play Fallout 3 lol

  • Great video! Tanks for posting it!

  • WOW! I'M DELIGHTED!!!

    xox m.

  • They were totally self taught. Lived in poverty. Never knew about this remarkable trio until I read their entire story online in an interview.

  • Great stuff...too bad that this type of big band music's basically been kept off of big band stations [y'know, anything pre-1960s is primiarly TOO conservative..great harmonies..not that much familiar...going by what it on here, they did the Our Gang.]

  • Very cute!

  • Dear Lord is there anything better than this I am 23 and I have been obsseseed with this since childhood

  • I want this song SO badly, but this is the ONLY thing I have ever found for it, besides the history channel's halloween vid.

  • You can find it in it's entirety on "The Monsters Crash the Pajama Party" DVD from 'Something Weird Video'

It is a great DVD with a lot of eclectic, vintage Halloween and Spookshow shorts.

  • @JohnnyHoTep

    Holy shit.....i NEED that.

  • 1948?

I remember them in 1940s TIN PAN ALLEY and they do not look 8 years older here at all.

My guess is maybe 1942 or so.

Guy up there says the song is from a 1944 film. I'd say yes...this could be a 1944 short.

  • You can see the Brian Sisters with the Little Rascals in the film "Our Gang Follies of 1936". They sing "How You Gonna Keep 'Em Down on the Farm."

  • Didn't the song "How You Gonna Keep Em Down on the Farm" just get in your head a stick there. Loved it.

  • Yes!

I have it on a Little Rascals DVD and I watch it constantly!

  • This is great. When I saw part of this on the Haunted History of Halloween, I always wondered what this song was. Thanks for posting.

  • It's a shame the sound quality isn't better on this song. Thanks for posting though.

  • The Brian Sisters were radio personalities as well - my parents (dad still living at age 92) really enjoyed them. Great to see this video. Should be listed as Brian Sisters so it will come up in a search for them. Great harmonies!

  • A fun musical number! This song was originally performed by Grace McDonald, June Preisser and Betty Kean in Universal's MURDER IN THE BLUE ROOM (1944).

  • interesting did they record any records

  • These are the Brian Sisters: Betty, Gwen and Doris. This number is from the movie "Swing and Sing" from 1948, and the Brian's are backed by Will Osborne and his Orchestra.

You can see a younger version of the Brian Sisters on the You Tube short "Connee and the Brian Sisters" and read about them at bozzies(dot)com(slash)buz(slash)brianSisters(dot)php.

Thanks for this treat - just in time for Halloween!
