In in my 4Th month i got my first set of braids last week how long should i keep them in my hair is pretty long > have been watching your vids since this one please respond bak asap thanks
@SuperKobelebron to be honest I'm not exactly sure what you could do, it sounds like our hair may be different as far as the textures go but basically I just picked my hair outwards to form the "mini-fro"
@TheArtisticGemini one more question did you part your and put the oil in that way or did you just rub the oil into your scalp with your fingers, cuz I just rub it in
@94theshiz rubbing it in is fine, parting it just makes it easier to apply the oil directly to your scalp. I did both depending on how I felt. If I was in a rush I just rubbed it in but if I had time I would part it
@DLBruton yup, just about 8 or 9 months, I had the back of my hair tapered twice so that affected my hangtime in the beginning when I first started to get braids
yo your hair grow fast az hell cause i was grow my hair from August 2011 and its about where your hair is at in this video and bro i think imma stop pickin my hair cause to many peaces is poppin off...can u give me some tips on that
@ghost2cipz you don't have to stop but it's definitely a good idea to cut back if you feel like you're doing it too much. I used to pick my hair out once in the morning then leave it for the entire day
@jamaicaboy544 when it was shorter yes, but in the morning I just wet it a lil and put some moisturizer in it to help soften my hair then I would pick/comb it out
@TheArtisticGemini: How long will it take to grow my hair long like jaden smith? it was extremely long in Whip my hair. My hair grows very fast. I have to get it cute ever other week.
@psylocke77 I can't say for sure how long it will take for your hair to grow like his but I'd say a few years like 3 or more, I imagine he's been growing his hair for a long time
@psylocke77 you could try single twists (usually called comb twists) or 2 strand twists if you're more of the twist type. Other than that I'm not too sure
@Savagelifevon I mainly stuck to the doo gro line of products when my hair was shorter but I also tried a couple others like indian hemp. the best thing to do when it comes to products is go to the store (or to the store's website) and read the labels of different products to see what hair type they're made for to help narrow down your options to make sure you pick the right one because what may work for me may not work for you
@Macktube back then I was using the doo gro leave in growth strengthener which I just recently switched back to, I really like it, it's a light moisturizer that smells really good and absorbs very well
@lilCRECRE24 i can't say for sure what would be best for you since I don't know your hairtype and other factors but I can suggest some products from my personal experiences. the doo gro line of products are great as well as the organic root stimulator line of products. also using natural oils (tea tree, olive, coconut, etc.) is great for your scalp/hair
first of all i wanna say congrats on all of ur hair success... now i kno everyone has different hair but as of now, im starting off with a regular haircut and i was interested in goin wit the fro. wut products should i use to start off wit bro?? ///im black wit thin nappy hair lol
@bigtazzzzzz Thanks I appreciate it. I can only make suggestions based on what I've used so for starters since you said you have thin hair I would recommend the doo gro anti-thinning growth lotion, it'll help with the thickness and softness as well. it's a very good product in my opinion. Also natural oils are great for your scalp. I currently use tea tree oil that has vitamin E in it, it's great.
@radiokillaDB moisturizer helps lock in moisture and protect your hair. I would suggest using natural oil on your scalp along with it, that's what I do. Tea tree oil is great because it's like a natural anti-dandruff/anti-fungal oil so it helps with dry/itchy scalp
@TheArtisticGemini hey kool man im a fan of your videos but i just wanna know how did you make the sides of your afro grow at first. The top of my afro is thicker than the sides and the back , and in the morning when i wake up they are always flatted down and matted, and the top is just higher and a lot thicker. What did you use to sleep with at night for your afro because I use a durag but it just doesnt work can you help me how can i make the back and the sides grow even ?
@Durellbabbs Thanks, I didn't use anything when my hair was shorter, I just slept on my fro and picked it out in the morning. A lot of people have that problem with the sides but I don't really know the true solution but I have a reccomendation. You could try using the Doo Gro Mega Thick Anti-Thinning Growth Lotion, it may help thicken your hair on the sides
@Durellbabbs Hey thanks man since you said you just slept on your fro I have realised that the tightness of durag I'm wearing is probally pushing down the hair at my sides restricting the growth so i'm gonna stop wearing it now and pick my fro in tha morning. Thanks man oh yeah and also could I use a detangler spray to pick out my fro in the morning ?
@radiokillaDB it's not bad for everyone, some people like it. I just don't use and it wouldn't suggest it because it can clog the pores on your scalp and then your hair has to fight through it down at the root which can slow your hair growth
iigght thanks i thought iwas the only 1 have my top higher dan my sides lol ... people alwaysz touching my fro n yea the bioton helps i been takin dat shit for a month lol n yes i saw new growth
iight so my hair grew back its like ur hair in da vid its all even up now ...... but da prblem its dat iwana see on my fro n have a half head in da mornin lol i got a dog so i wash my hair 1x week n im not gonna lie washin ur hair week is stinky my hair stinky so im washin it tommorww i wash my hair every mondays n yea it got longer lol n i switched to using olive oil oil moisturizer ..... its a blessing to see u show us wat u do time to show us every thing u do in the vid...........
@radiokillaDB good to hear it's growing back the way you want it and everything is even. and yea the flat sides was probably the most annoying stage I went through too but it'll get better trust me
Hey man, just wondering, how long did you have your hair in this. I've been growing my hair for about 1 month and was curious, sorry if you mentioned it in the video by the way.
Hey artistic you just inspired me to grow my hair out i'm at about my 5 month mark, love the videos family, just wanted to know how long have you been growing your hair until this point? Lastly, you should put up a new video showing the length of your hair.
Artistic Gemini you mention all these products but you dont mention nothing about vitamins like biotin, vitamin a, b, e and folic acid vitamins for the hair, dont get me wrong the products are good because i am growing my hair but i do take vitamins.
@oburney2607 I mention a multivitamin that I take in one of my later updates and I talked about how it has Biotin in it. But at this point when I made this video I wasn't taking it.
@TheArtisticGemini already! my afro is alittle smaller than this maybe by a few milimeters haha. and i at 3 months, starting my hair journey next month
i just got 2 ask you these questions dont get mad ha ha LOL what state do you live in i live n louisville kentucky and have you ever used the doo gro that comes in the white bottle with blue letters the hole bottle is blue, white and black and does it work as good or worse than the doo gro u gat
@freshtaper94 i live in new jersey and the both of the doo gros i've used came in bottles that were white, blue, and black. one was a moisturizer and the other is the lotion...the lotion is basically a moisturizer too though but it's just thicker. I liked them both equally to be honest
@TheArtisticGemini how old r u do u live with your mom & dad and i dont think doo gro makes your hair grow faster i think it just makes your hair growing insead of growing a fro and it staying the same height it makes it gro but if u wash the doo gro out can it still work im confused
@freshtaper94 I twisted it once myself when it was shorter when I was bored but then I just took them out after I was finished lol that was back when I had a mini fro
@TheArtisticGemini i just gat done cutting my hair i had a box from like christmas 2 about april 1st then eye got tired of looking at it so i got a gumby last week aka slope then 2day i cut it all off and it looks good 4 a home made cut but im probally going 2 gro a large afro then get a "kid n play" Box
@mavisdick360 from a small local beauty/hair supply store, a lot of people who follow my videos seem to have been able to find them in their areas too so you might be able to.
since october n my sides are a lil bit to my ears n i hav a mini fro n da top higher dan sides i ain't trimmin it cuz i did twice n it still didn't work so i get shape up's n how often should i use doo gro ...
@radiokillaDB my sides are actually shorter than the top too but after a while you won't even notice it. I would use the doo gro after each time you wash your hair so you're applying it to scalp when it's clean
how long have you been growing it? a lot of people feel like their hair looks weird in the shorter stages but as it gets longer and becomes a fuller fro it gets better
@dfreshie821 I didn't get it braided at this length but it all depends on the person who is braiding it for you and whether or not they can grip your hair enough to braid it.
how do u keep it so perfect and my hair looks kind of like this right now but when i pull it, it reaches my eyes..ive been growing my hair for about 9 months how can i make it look as big as it really is?
@highvidz my hair just seems to grow evenly all around and holds its even shape/appearance on its on. I'm not really sure what you could do to make it as big as it really is besides blow drying it after you wash it and picking it out
do u reccomend trimming (reshaping) my hair right now or waiting till it grows longer ( please suggest how long) to shape it? Also is it better to get your hair shaped when it is in its normal form ( washed and blow dryed) or let out after braids?
@ZooYorkxIMxBrent it's really up to you and how you feel about it. i got my hair trimmed around the 3rd/4th month and then just let it grow from there so it's been about a year now of just growth. but i would definitely get it done in it's natural state. if you go to a salon they'll wash it and dry it then trim it if you have a fro, for people with long hair a lot of times they'll trim it while its wet
@ZooYorkxIMxBrent yea my hair definitely seems longer after i take my hair out and then it seems to "shrink" to it's "normal" length after i wash/blow dry it, but yes it's perfectly normal/natural
to ensure that my hair would grow in evenly I got it trimmed/evened out when I had a mini fro around the 3rd/4th month stage. I would suggest letting it grow in a bit and then getting it evened out by a professional barber. From that point it should grow in fairly evenly but for a lot of people believe it or not your hair can grow faster/slower in certain areas so I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you
no, they picked it out after i took them out...but the dude didnt pick out the top like he did the sides before he shaped it, so when i pick out the top now its way higher than the sides. its suckes cuz it looks weird, and i have to were it to school. thats why it would help me alot if u make a vidoe demonstrating how to even out an afro
@ZooYorkxIMxBrent ooooh ok i see what you mean now, yea that does suck sorry to hear that. I wish I could help but i've never trimmed my fro and don't plan on it because I don't want to mess anything up. I plan on getting it trimmed by a professional stylist
yeah its alright bro, i dont blame you, ima jus have to back to the barber, and get it evened out correctly this time....thx for all your updates though ur an inspiration to grow a fro cuz yours looks really cool!
@mallgunna5 - what worked for me is going to the barber and getting it shaped, not lined, ever so often so that its even all around, it may take longer in the end to get braids but it looked good throughout. Also moisturizing and picking regularly.
howd u get urs so even? mine looks weird, lol ive been growin it fer 7 months and its stiil not that big...but ima keep it growin.....i have to like pick and pat fer awhile after a shower to get it a little even, and it still doesnt get as even as yours...did u get a barber to even it out or somethin?
in the early stages around my 3rd/4th month (a little before this video was recorded) I got it trimmed/evened out and then I just let it grow from there
oooh, ok, so i think i have to get it evened by a barber...XD im screwed...i dont think there are many barbers experianced with fros in san antonio...
Well starting from my 2nd update I show the different products I used at each stage so pretty much every hair update I talk about/show products that I've used
hey bro i been growing my hair from jul n it still isnt a huge afro yet i wanted 2 kno how long dose it take 2 get a full afro 2 get braided n also i got a taper alot of times n da back n sides is shorter than he rest and it kind of looks retarded bcuz i have so much on the top can u give me any tips thank u
I would say it took me about 8 months to get the full fro but when it comes to braids it all depends on who is doing it for you. I know someone who got their hair braided after 3 or 4 months of growing whereas I waited till my 6th month to get my first set of braids. I also got my hair tapered in the back and sides in my early stages when I had a baby fro but then I started to let it grow out and stopped going to the barber. Just let it grow and it'll start to even out a bit
i been growin out my hair for 3 months and ahalf but i got a lil blowout in the back its the same al around you think that affects it from getting it braided man
nope not at all just continue to let it grow. In my early stage I got the sides and back tapered so they were shorter than the rest of my hair but then I just let it grow back in and now it's still shorter but it's not noticeable at all. My stylist even tells me that my hair is growing in beautifully and evenly now
lol yea i know what you mean, no one ever asked me that before but it all depends on when i see other peoples hair. like if someone has longer hair than me i feel like mine is short but if i have longer hair than someone i see then i feel like my hair is long lol
I remember this, inspired me to make my own journey :D
Everybody check out my hair Journey!

freshtaper94 1 year ago

TheArtisticGemini 1 year ago
yo hair grows super fast i gat sum questions 4 u and i hope u answer them.
1.how often do u use doo gro once a week once a month week what.
2.what if i combine multiply doo gro products like two of them will that work.
3.should i wash my hair at all cuz idk but i think its pointless to put the products n and then wash them out
4.when i go 2 the barber shop do you think i should get the ends scissered
freshtaper94 1 year ago
@freshtaper94 thanks, to answer your questions:
1. When my hair was shorter I used it whenever I washed my hair after I towel-dried it but now I only use it occasionally when I take my braids out
2. Combining is fine, just don't over do it. keep a good balance of each
3. washing your hair is essential. one of the most important factors for good hair growth is maintaining a clean scalp
4. getting your ends clipped is fine and also a good idea

advancedkilla 1 year ago
@advancedkilla nice, just remember patience and a healthy diet are very important for growing your hair
TheArtisticGemini 1 year ago
lol where did u find that pick with the black fist on it i want one?
mavisdick360 1 year ago
@mavisdick360 from a small local beauty/hair supply store, a lot of people who follow my videos seem to have been able to find them in their areas too so you might be able to.
TheArtisticGemini 1 year ago
haha im growing my hair out 2 i just started like 3 months ago and i have the same pick as u :P
advancedkilla 1 year ago

TheArtisticGemini 1 year ago
since october n my sides are a lil bit to my ears n i hav a mini fro n da top higher dan sides i ain't trimmin it cuz i did twice n it still didn't work so i get shape up's n how often should i use doo gro ...
radiokillaDB 1 year ago
@radiokillaDB my sides are actually shorter than the top too but after a while you won't even notice it. I would use the doo gro after each time you wash your hair so you're applying it to scalp when it's clean
TheArtisticGemini 1 year ago
good work on that ..but my hair alwayz look weird even if i pick it out
radiokillaDB 1 year ago
how long have you been growing it? a lot of people feel like their hair looks weird in the shorter stages but as it gets longer and becomes a fuller fro it gets better
TheArtisticGemini 1 year ago
can you braid it at that height?
dfreshie821 2 years ago
@dfreshie821 I didn't get it braided at this length but it all depends on the person who is braiding it for you and whether or not they can grip your hair enough to braid it.
TheArtisticGemini 2 years ago
how do u keep it so perfect and my hair looks kind of like this right now but when i pull it, it reaches my eyes..ive been growing my hair for about 9 months how can i make it look as big as it really is?
highvidz 2 years ago
@highvidz my hair just seems to grow evenly all around and holds its even shape/appearance on its on. I'm not really sure what you could do to make it as big as it really is besides blow drying it after you wash it and picking it out
TheArtisticGemini 2 years ago
do u reccomend trimming (reshaping) my hair right now or waiting till it grows longer ( please suggest how long) to shape it? Also is it better to get your hair shaped when it is in its normal form ( washed and blow dryed) or let out after braids?
ZooYorkxIMxBrent 2 years ago
@ZooYorkxIMxBrent it's really up to you and how you feel about it. i got my hair trimmed around the 3rd/4th month and then just let it grow from there so it's been about a year now of just growth. but i would definitely get it done in it's natural state. if you go to a salon they'll wash it and dry it then trim it if you have a fro, for people with long hair a lot of times they'll trim it while its wet
TheArtisticGemini 2 years ago
is is natural for after braiding for your hair to poof out way more? thats wat happens with my hair
ZooYorkxIMxBrent 2 years ago
@ZooYorkxIMxBrent yea my hair definitely seems longer after i take my hair out and then it seems to "shrink" to it's "normal" length after i wash/blow dry it, but yes it's perfectly normal/natural
TheArtisticGemini 2 years ago
ok im startin to grow my hair out wat is the best thing to wear on my head when i go to bed
derrian100 2 years ago
@derrian100 if it's still short then a doo rag/wave cap. as for the mini fro/fro stage, I just slept on it and picked it out in the morning
TheArtisticGemini 2 years ago
WASSUPP iMA JUSS STARTN 2 GROW MY HAIR AND ITZ NOT EVEN...HOW DO i GET IT 2 BE EVEN. ALSO IT VERY THICK AND STRAIGHT
mallgunna5 2 years ago
to ensure that my hair would grow in evenly I got it trimmed/evened out when I had a mini fro around the 3rd/4th month stage. I would suggest letting it grow in a bit and then getting it evened out by a professional barber. From that point it should grow in fairly evenly but for a lot of people believe it or not your hair can grow faster/slower in certain areas so I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you
TheArtisticGemini 2 years ago
oops i got my hair shaped up when it was let out after braids, is that bad?
ZooYorkxIMxBrent 2 years ago
what do you mean exactly? like, you took your braids out and got your fro shaped but they didn't pick your hair out?
TheArtisticGemini 2 years ago
no, they picked it out after i took them out...but the dude didnt pick out the top like he did the sides before he shaped it, so when i pick out the top now its way higher than the sides. its suckes cuz it looks weird, and i have to were it to school. thats why it would help me alot if u make a vidoe demonstrating how to even out an afro
ZooYorkxIMxBrent 2 years ago
@ZooYorkxIMxBrent ooooh ok i see what you mean now, yea that does suck sorry to hear that. I wish I could help but i've never trimmed my fro and don't plan on it because I don't want to mess anything up. I plan on getting it trimmed by a professional stylist
TheArtisticGemini 2 years ago
yeah its alright bro, i dont blame you, ima jus have to back to the barber, and get it evened out correctly this time....thx for all your updates though ur an inspiration to grow a fro cuz yours looks really cool!
ZooYorkxIMxBrent 2 years ago
@ZooYorkxIMxBrent Thanks, I appreciate it!
TheArtisticGemini 2 years ago
@mallgunna5 - what worked for me is going to the barber and getting it shaped, not lined, ever so often so that its even all around, it may take longer in the end to get braids but it looked good throughout. Also moisturizing and picking regularly.
croshaun 2 years ago
howd u get urs so even? mine looks weird, lol ive been growin it fer 7 months and its stiil not that big...but ima keep it growin.....i have to like pick and pat fer awhile after a shower to get it a little even, and it still doesnt get as even as yours...did u get a barber to even it out or somethin?
ZooYorkxIMxBrent 2 years ago
in the early stages around my 3rd/4th month (a little before this video was recorded) I got it trimmed/evened out and then I just let it grow from there
TheArtisticGemini 2 years ago
oooh, ok, so i think i have to get it evened by a barber...XD im screwed...i dont think there are many barbers experianced with fros in san antonio...
ZooYorkxIMxBrent 2 years ago
aw man sorry to hear that

TheArtisticGemini 2 years ago
hey bro i been growing my hair from jul n it still isnt a huge afro yet i wanted 2 kno how long dose it take 2 get a full afro 2 get braided n also i got a taper alot of times n da back n sides is shorter than he rest and it kind of looks retarded bcuz i have so much on the top can u give me any tips thank u
SADIK134 2 years ago
I would say it took me about 8 months to get the full fro but when it comes to braids it all depends on who is doing it for you. I know someone who got their hair braided after 3 or 4 months of growing whereas I waited till my 6th month to get my first set of braids. I also got my hair tapered in the back and sides in my early stages when I had a baby fro but then I started to let it grow out and stopped going to the barber. Just let it grow and it'll start to even out a bit
TheArtisticGemini 2 years ago
Hey this one very well:)
You can say to me that you have used product to have the hair with this volume
All the cm happens your hair when you began the product

isaacgourrier 2 years ago
i been growin out my hair for 3 months and ahalf but i got a lil blowout in the back its the same al around you think that affects it from getting it braided man
XPlayboi09X 2 years ago
nope not at all just continue to let it grow. In my early stage I got the sides and back tapered so they were shorter than the rest of my hair but then I just let it grow back in and now it's still shorter but it's not noticeable at all. My stylist even tells me that my hair is growing in beautifully and evenly now
TheArtisticGemini 2 years ago
What video app do u have?

TheArtisticGemini 2 years ago
Some days have you ever felt like your hair is long than short some days
batmanjuju6 2 years ago
lol yea i know what you mean, no one ever asked me that before but it all depends on when i see other peoples hair. like if someone has longer hair than me i feel like mine is short but if i have longer hair than someone i see then i feel like my hair is long lol
TheArtisticGemini 2 years ago
