The best Bach performance Ive heard in a long time. The flute player is astonishing. The phrasing, depth, dynamics and emotion. Bravo!

I admire Abbado tremendously as a conductor, and it's good, once in a while, to hear a "non-baroque specialist" doing this. Not that he needs lesson on how-to, of course ;-) BUT... a classic conductor (i.e. someone who's not playing with along with the rest) for a baroque ensemble/piece seems a little redundant, standing there, giving cues and all, even when he gave the piece his "imprint" beforehand...
