Yeah, Sid was called Sid after John Lydon's hamster who was the least vicious animal ever yet he still bit Sid. It's a kind of tongue-in-cheek name.
And yeah, they didn't really like Pink Floyd or any of that stuff but I have been informed that Sid Vicious was a fan of the Beatles...
