  • Really great! You are a real violin player. I am from Iles-de-la-Madeleine and I am trying to learn your version but it is so perfect that I have to do it an other way. I hope you could teach me how to Improvise like you! Serge

  • Yep. That's my teacher Glen Alexander. Never seen this video though he's a real nice guy

  • That's my teacher! That's the first song I've learned from him and now he teaches me!!!!

  • "That's great" is fargin' right!

  • Great version!!!

  • A wonderful arrangement and performance!!

  • LOVELY !! - v.good quality of sound -- so pure

  • Love it, Great job

  • Now that was awesome!!

  • sounds more irish than anythig

  • Not really. Irish fiddling involves a lot of rolls and triplets, whereas Bluegrass fiddling uses a more bluesy sound, with longer slides and double stops. Mr. Alexander does seem to use more grace notes than the average Bluegrass fiddler, which is common among Irish players. I would classify this as somewhere between Bluegrass and Old-Time.

  • Great!

  • Fine, fine playing! I love your fiddles tone also. Thanks for posting.

  • By far the best version on YouTube you will find. I play mandoline and just started fiddle a few months back, wish I could slow this down to play along and learn a few of the licks. Awsome playing.

  • Yeah it sure is the best. Hey you can record it with a microphone then use a program like "Amazing Slow Downer" to define the embellishments better.

  • outstanding....
