1. Your right about the police, they made huge mistakes in that case. It must be really bad for N.K. to think that if they had done their work properly, she might have been freed sooner.

2. I think everyone realizes that it must have been horrible what she had to go through. What they mock in this video is not the fact that she was kidnapped and held captive for years. They mock a TV show she had for a short time.

@tomchaplinrules the actor is mocking her, not just the tv show, natascha her self has been portray badly. she did act a little like that in her first interview, but she spent most of her life in dark, her eye sight wasn't great. there is a difference between people like paris hilton, who deliberately does stupid things (cocaine, sex tapes) being mocked, and an innocent girl locked in a cellar for eight years trying to make the most of her life...

And I think the reason they mock her TV show is that they don't understand WHY she would want to have her own TV show instead of wanting to be left alone. Of course, she must do what she thinks is best for her, but I wonder if she wouldn't have been better off if her face had never appeared in the media after her escape. Then she could have started a new life and been able to walk down the street without people staring at her and talking about her.

@tomchaplinrules ah, so because she was victim, she must always remain a victim, and doesn't have the right to equal opportunities. did you know she wanted a career in acting since childhood (pre-wolfgang). she was offered the chance to make her own show, and because she was victimized she cannot accept it? she must simply climb under a dark rock and remain there for the rest of her life? which has really only just begun?

She has EVERY right to equal opportunities and shouldn't climb under a dark rock. The problem is that when people hear the name Natascha Kampusch, they always think of a victim. I just think if she had changed her name after her escape and never shown herself as N.K. to the public, she would have had better chances to really start a new life. But it's her choice, and appearently she decided against it.

@tomchaplinrules Well someone ought to have advised that to her. although to be fair, she had been forced to change her identity already, she was finally allowed to call herself natascha again, changing her name for the world's sake is a bit unfair. people should see her as a survivor or hero, it's the public that need to change. they should accept that what happened happened, she's in the press a lot but they don't have to read or watch her. they chose to then complain about it.

Ok, I understand that she would want to finally be Natascha again. But I wonder if she REALLY wanted to show her face during her first interview or if she was just persuaded to do so. Because when she managed to escape from Priklopil and the Police came to get her, she asked for a blanket to be put over her head, so the journalists wouldn't be able to film or photograph her face...

That is Stefan Petzner. He is a member of BZÖ, a political party led by Jörg Haider. After Haider died in a car crash, Petzner talked about his close and special relationship with him in many interviews. During these interviews he kept breaking into tears and smoked a lot. This led to speculations about Petzner beeing homosexual and in love with Haider.
