Looks ridiculous? Who says? Someone without a mirror in the house maybee? Who like to throw stones in a house full of windows? Ugly is about taste but i m sure u are ugly inside u fucking zgoify.
I'm just curious why someone would say "he looks ridiculous". Jussi looks pretty darn good in this. He's probably the thinnest at this point in his life. The soprano is a bit long in the tooth to be playing Gilda, but she sings well.
People should read the biography of Jussi Bjorling before casting aspersions on the man and his family.
Actually this is what AnnaLisa wanted us to hear, she never wanted the real truth to come forward, he was a periodical drunkard in truth. He was a marvellous singer, but many times a real horror to his family. He was unfaithful and he got a child out of wedlock during his wife were expecting her 1st...
You're full of shit 'he was unfaithful', 'he got a child out of wedlock'. What are you a f--kin' celibate full to the gills with moral nonsense. It's easy to see you never loved a woman -- and few women could have loved you.....P--k!
As his wife considered it a horror, thats how I described it. She never asked anyth, knewing that she was the big love of his life, but that unfaithfulness/child was a catastrophy, a threat to the familys social standing and to his whole career. She kept it a secret for decades after his death even.
This wasn't London in 2009, but it happened in prewar Sweden where hypocritical morality ruled, and judgement was merciless.
Prewar was prewar.. This is now.. and speak for yourself; you are not his wife... And stop degrading the name of Mozart with your Christian and judgemental prejudice... Mozart also ran from a judgemental Bishop of a similar turn of mind as yourself...
The child wasn't now, stupid. Nor was his drinking, that tormented his kids although they loved him dearly, as he did them. I am not his wife but these are things that the family have told in books, so what?
That you are a cathholic-hater - and suffers greatly because of this (you will probably end up kissing the popes hand), gets you to attack others, believing them to be christians. As for Mozart, no you don't understand him or his music.
Interesting: I never mentioned 'Catholic'; but it's true: I have been listening to haters like you since I was born... You see everybody's faults but your own... And if you come out from behind your presumptious mask, maybe we can see how much of prating Christian you really are!!!
ussi sang, but was short, overweight, poor, not educated or intelligent, with alcoholic tendencies and one illegit child (Rolf) to pay for. AnnaLisa was pretty (Stockholms beauty queen), wellborn, intelligent, talented (one of the lucky few to enter the musical academy, yes she sang very well), she was, considered a prize.
Her violent reaction when told that Jussi had produced kid no2 with an old woman, ONE MONTH after the wedding, isn't that hard to see, even for an atheist.
According to Pearlmoth (elsewhere) Jussi had bleeding ulcers, a bad heart , chest pains and spat blood, but was true to his art, even in the 90 degree Italian climate... It's not rocket science how he came by these afflictions; but is it not better to sing of a glass half full, than lament it half empty...???
Hej LordMoe9! Don´t worry, here comes 3 High C wich other tenors only can dream of:
"JB Forse La soglia New Orleans 1950" ecp. between 3.40 and 4.20, "JB singing Acapella 1938" and "Che gelida manina" Live 1937" at the end. Note only 26 years old!
Thank you so much for this! Such rare material - where else but YouTube?? Sort of a miracle actually:)) Yes, Jussi is marvelous - incomparable. Best wishes ...

Bjoerling posessed one of the most perfect tenor voices of all time. It's a shame he died so young.
TruthWielder 4 years ago
How young? and what exactly did he die of?
contessabrilliante 4 years ago
He died in 1960 at age 49 exactly like Leonard Warren. Jussi had a massive heart-attack in his sleep.
primobaritono 4 years ago
Thank you.
What a shame, 49 only!

As Pippo said: he had a drinking-problem.
Sad it is. Such a beautiful voice.

..it is amazing Bjoerling was an alcoholic, but never needed practice...after he learned the role, and you could never tell his affliction. Amazing.
