can't wait for their performance together with Randy Brecker at Pori Jazz Festival 14th of July! soooo groovy! he's one of my favourite drummers at the moment.
@kristofor12345 you're an idiot; where would they be if they didnt discover music and the love for it. Drugs have nothing to do with. Love, appreciate, practice, and exploration are what made them what they are not drugs; that's an insulting comment
@oneswtwld your statement is just as idiotic as Kristofors. I am no stranger to experimentation with mind altering substances; I play music myself and have 'jammed-out' with plenty of people. I even played at a few dive bars, which is nothing special. My point is I have used marijuana as well, and yes I definitely feel like the range of emotions or the feel of a song or jam can change when I am intoxicated.
@isleoforkney I saw them live, Medeski moves his mouth to the notes its looks like he's talking each note out. Its funny, they're all fun guys, awesome show.
If you ever get a chance to see them, do it, don't think twice.
Read this before you watch! : You better have an extra pair of breeches lying around before you watch this. It will all come out, weather you want it to or not.
@medeski86 idk what pedal he's using if any. I saw them live and was wondering the same thing. More likely, his tone is coming from his 1970's Ampeg SVT plus the aluminum coned Hartke speakers he favors. Seeing him live actually inspired me to buy a vintage SVT, and have absolutely nailed his tone with it. haha hope that helps

just found the whole doc of this piece, its in three parts; search the dropper 1/3 good stuff. im excited for this friday, its gonna be my lucky day that will make the next three years at least, worth it. Until they come again.
Clavichord strikes the strings with a metal striker, called a tangent.
The clavinet strikes the string in the same way, except at the end of the string, a piece of yarn stops the string from vibrating once the key is released. This allows a shorter, more staccato effect.
I first saw these guys around 1996 at the Toronto Jazz festival for a dollar(part of their dollar concert series)and it was a sick show; I would totally see them for a hundred times that amount any day of the week.
Call SVU, they just F'ed my eardrum with out me knowing.

@ThePheloniousMonk kristofer may sound disrespectful... but weed has enhanced quite a few musicians

@oneswtwld I dont think many true musician/artists would say their inspiration, dedication, and creation of their music is because of weed.

Medeski no exception.

You can't tweak a Rhodes while you play. That's a Hohner Clavinet.

right, of course ... whats difference between a clavichord and a clavinet, besides the time gap between prototypes?

Clavichord strikes the strings with a metal striker, called a tangent.
The clavinet strikes the string in the same way, except at the end of the string, a piece of yarn stops the string from vibrating once the key is released. This allows a shorter, more staccato effect.
