Even though I really hate Apple for reasons I'm too lazy to mention, their packaging for products looks nice. I mean, at least for their small electronic devices. The iphone packaging however is a little disappointing. I don't really like the picture of the phone covering the whole front of the box. It's better if it's plain and simple, with a nice, sleek and professional colour. Like the packaging of the Galaxy S2.
NOBODY is switching to apple, buying an ipod or iphone does not mean switching to apple! Ipad users are another issue.....The only valid argument to use an apple PC is being a graphic designer.

ONE of the main reasons why Windows product boxes look like that is because PC users have the SENSE to buy a Windows product for its specs, features, and performance. Also, there are way more windows products out there than Apple. If all the Microsoft packaging looked similar, people would get confused. PC users actually pay attention to the hardware info unlike SOME Mac users who are like: "I'm comfortable blowing all my money on a Mac since it MUST be perfect because Apple made it."

I watched this video embedded into a forum page but thought I'd check out the actual Youtube page figuring I'd see some humorous comments about said video. Instead I see a bunch of idiots arguing about who makes better cellphones and how Apples products are overpriced. Even in the early 2000s when I was designing clean web pages, people were saying: "there's not much design there"! The sad truth is that most good design is simply wasted on most people. Apple has strangely been following the trends outside the US, and of course been leading them as well, which is minimalism and functionalism. Well, the fact is the people who want to be cool and know nothing about technology (or know nothing at all) always go for Apple because it appeals perfectly to them. And for this reason Apple can put a huge premium on their devices. You cannot deny how overpriced Apple products are. Competing devices are almost always more powerful. Microsoft on the other hand provides all that box information which a more intelligent person would most likely find helpful, however the design is not appealing.
@whistler222 your not sure how the iphone is overpriced? explain how it costs more than android phones that have faster processors, double the ram, 4.6 inch screens (iphone is 3.5), higher resolution ala 720p, and even 4G. I could go on. The app environment is rubbish, it has a lot of apps but the problem is apple does not allow developers to make apps that do certain things. you would not believe how many are rejected. plus, later on apple steals these rejected app's inventions

I totally agree with this video. I mean seriously.... why worry about what features the product has, its performance, or whether or not it will work with what you already have? That is so passé. I like to buy my products based on the appearance of the box. My nerd friend says that's why I have a phone that drops calls if I hold it in my hand, but he is just jealous of my style.

As a graphic designer this is one of the real reasons Apple products always appeal to me. But to be honest, it's not about the price, label or how "trendy" it is. Mac-related products are just so much more superior. Microsoft products are crappy. The only good thing about them is Word.
You are so wrong. In my workplace when offered Macs vs PCs (we can choose OSes in our PCs too), almost ALL of us chose a PC with FreeBSD. Reason: we want our work done. And yes, we do have enough money to buy 150 apple macs - but no one wanted them.
I chose a PC and have been using Fedora on it. I have been using fedora for 13 years - yet I can bet that I can do everything a mac user can on it +++++ a TON more.
@liveevery As a graphic designer, macs are far more superior. Perhaps it's the job you have? I dunno, macs are certainly easier to navigate too. And I've never had virus problems with them like Microsofts.

You are so wrong. In my workplace when offered Macs vs PCs (we can choose OSes in our PCs too), almost ALL of us chose a PC with FreeBSD. Reason: we want our work done. And yes, we do have enough money to buy 150 apple macs - but no one wanted them.
I chose a PC and have been using Fedora on it. I have been using fedora for 13 years - yet I can bet that I can do everything a mac user can on it +++++ a TON more.

I was at one this past monday and as always, it was a pleasant experience to shop there (although expensive i might say, $50 for a hardshell MBP case!). I don't mind the cost though, because i have the stability, security, usefullness, compatibility, and beauty of a $2,000 Windows Computer underneath my fingers right now.
