I have my own band, it's called Mysterious Medley and I understand what the real sound is! I am from the Untied States but the Goth subculture didn't start here... It started in the UK Now the Goth subculture has history that is over 30 years old... Before the subculture no one was ever labeled as a goth. Research Joy division and Bauhaus and that is where it all started... I also talk with elder goths who have been goth for over 20 years... @Twwistad That is Within Temptation - Deep Within - the best track I ever heard in Dark Doom Goth style. It's not complicated - very simple, but it is a unique harmony and sound conception. I have my own band, it's called Mysterious Medley and I understand what the real sound is! We play rock and have just finished our second album "Led By Youth And Love" (you can find it at Youtube or download for free from our blog), but I thing the third album we will record in Goth style like this song!

and the term emo today is more different than the emo in 1980's , almost not the same
1) most emos listen to pop-punk like mychemical romance , or hardcore-pop and some metal genres and call it screamo , I do the same but I know what genre is what
2)fashion have changed , from old clothes and ugly looking to cute (or gay) looking boys and girls , I'm straight emo boy tho
3)the charactaristic : sad - shy - emotional in 1980's , but these days it's depreesed - cutter - emotional

still the same feelings , the same view of life , the same sadness etc...
scene is a fashion , emo isn't.

I am from the Untied States but the Goth subculture didn't start here... It started in the UK Now the Goth subculture has history that is over 30 years old... Before the subculture no one was ever labeled as a goth. Research Joy division and Bauhaus and that is where it all started... I also talk with elder goths who have been goth for over 20 years... I am very sure you have elder goths in your country try talking with them.
