Question to anyone that can help.. I've got a 350 and im putting 2 1/2 Original 40's... What would be better H, X, or STRAIGHT pipes like i have it now is there any diff? Thanks..
those HP2s sound nasty!! however, i would like to hear all of the mufflers w/an H pipe set up. x pipe gives the muffler a higher pitch. GREAT job though flowmaster! very entertaining & helpfull. HP2s who knew??
@fudgeman333 lol me too mee too...WAIT i doo hahahaha i gota 77 4x4 mud truck open headers i start up now and again..piss my neibors off lil pit.../...350 edelbrock eps intake edelb. carb camed up a lil bit...she loud
@but199018 This is a customers brand new engine, so I didnt want to beat on it too much before he got to play with it. Watch the comparison video with the 3 inch, since that was my personal engine I winged it a little harder. It's never good to just free rev an engine without a load on it anyways.
flowmaster aint a bad muffler, but for the money you can't beat a magnaflow or borla, sure they cost more but they'll outlast the flowmaster and will produce more power. i always refer to the flowmaster mufflers more of the "noise" mufflers.
@DPense Because it's a drag engine. Big difference between something for the street and something for the strip. An engine with such power would benefit from no back pressure. The faster you get the air out of an engine with forced induction, the better. Why do you think there are guidelines for exhaust piping? You should only go above 3" if you're putting out 300-350+ hp and so on. There's a reason.
Either way, do what you want, but it's not good for a street engine to be running open headers.
@ESPViper5001 Question and I'm not being a smartass here I'm being serious because I was thinking of running 3 inch pipes all the way, how is that not good for a street car pushing less than 350 hp? I have a stock 95 mustang gt, well somewhat stock it's only making 275 at the wheels for now, would it be bad to run 3 inch pipes all the way?
Thank y'all for making this video. This is a big help compared to the common camera under a bumper videos. I've never heard the hushpower shorties, and they are definately a possibility for my 67 stang. If you could get a video with the shorties on a 302, that would really help.
I'm actually friends with some of the Flowmaster guys who do these particular videos and the reason this motor didn't get reved up higher is that the motor is brand new and it belonged to a customer. I wish everyone could hear all these mufflers in person, they sounded freakin awesome!!
All joking aside, the super 10 and hp2 shortie sounded awesome.I have always been scared the hushpowers were to quiet but they sounded awesome! I have had a bad experience with flowmaster in the past but this vid changed my view, and I will be putting some flowmasters on my dodge project truck now,you can bet on it!
Just me,(no disrespect) but next time rev her a little higher so we can hear it growl a little more!
I do have a suggestion, I don't want to sound rude or offensive in any way. "Flowmaster" should have broken-in all the mufflers. They sound much better after a few days of breaking in. All I all thank you very much for the comparisons.
For the people that like the video leave a comment or make a suggestion. I'm sure the guys that made it put alot of time into it. But for the people that wanna piss and moan about the video, go find something to do. You dont have to watch it but its helpful to others, so there is no point in tearing down people for doing something that doesn't meet YOUR expectations.
I agree with 05front, my lap top has ok spearkers but I hooked it up to my stereo to get all the tones and I think they sound as good as they can without being there in person. This is there second video and they are more helpful, informative and useful than some guy laying a 25 dollar video camera under the bumper of his mustang and reving the shit out of it.
@dodge2289 it sounds like crap cuz he lets off the throttle linkage as soon as he revs it, instead of revving it and letting off the linkage a bit slower.
@BeastGT87 also wit nothing on the flywheel like a torque converter or flywheel it revs up and down so fast it really does not sound like a normal car.
you guys need to fix something... they all sound like shit its either your camera or the pipes! most vehicles sound nothing like wut these sound like!!!
super 10's are the best sounding by far should have got them instead of my dnomax bullets

open headers sounds the best
DPense 10 months ago 30
@DPense Open headers are for idiots. It's just noise, and not good noise either. Plus, you're losing a good bit of power.
ESPViper5001 6 months ago
@ESPViper5001 your opinion not mine and if you lose power why do drag cars run open headers

to all who watch this
1. it depends on your speakers, if you have a sub or not.
2. the mufflers all have a "break in period"
