  • omg Ian Somerholder and The Cure why haven't I seen this movie before?

  • It's about "The Dice Man" by Luke Rhinehart. Andrew Bonner-Walter on Facebook x

  • LOUDER !

  • Is this how it actually appears in the movie? Lol kinda odd

  • It sucks that such an amazing bands music is being used for commercial teeny booper shit like this is. Respect the cure people, ah what am i talking about, bunch of 12 year old morons who dont even know what album this is on. Bye losers.

  • @afoolisharrangement teeny boober? jeez have you fucking read rules of attraction? its FAAAR from a teen movie not to mention the protaganists arent even in their teens

  • @afoolisharrangement you don't even know what you are talking about fuck stick. Have you watched this movie? Tool.

  • @afoolisharrangement I rarely respond to any of the mindless comments I see on youtube. You are very wrong with your shallow comment. I have been a fan of The Cure for 24 years! I am 37 years old. I have seen them live 11 times. The Head On The Door is one of my fav albums of all time! This movie is far from "teeny booper." BTW...It is "bopper." Just because "Dawson's Creek" is in the film do not be so narrow minded. It is a witty roller coaster of a ride.

  • @afoolisharrangement

    what a faggot

  • @afoolisharrangement haha, you have AIDS. : D

  • the cure about 15 years ahead of everyone else

  • this is one of my favorite movies. brett easton ellis is a brilliant hysterical writer(american psycho) and omg how visionary is roger avary!!

  • This movie SUCKED.

  • did he died?

  • How the film ends? I have not yet understood :)

  • @muserulezzz it doesn't.

  • @chunkymilk why not?

  • @muserulezzz the story has neither a beginning nor an ending, signifying the endless cycle of debauchery in which the characters of the novel engage.

    from wikipedia

  • @chunkymilk oh thank you :)

  • what can I say about this? awesome movie and perfect song for it.

    thanks for uploading :)

  • This movie is EPIC!!! Great Songs throughout.

  • JAMES VAN DER BEEK!

  • this is a good movie, a good song and a good book from the best writer Brest Easton Ellis

  • that transition at the very end, write after he opens the love note was sick. his face just disappears.

  • @JonJon448

actually he did play his guitar to Lauren, and she was crying because she missed victor. read the book dude

  • @acwann118

yep it was lauren in the book. he goes down on her for hours and think she enjoys it, but she couldnt care less because she misses victor

  • gorgeous song :] really glad I was introduced to it via Rules..! Great film as well!

    Charming Thieves [FREAKpop]

    myspace/charmingthieves

  • what a great song! and shannyn sossamon is gorgeous!

  • im not kidding i just threw up all over the place

  • This sounds like its playing at a higher speed. Anyone else hear it?

  • This was the first song I heard this decade!

  • An excellent film adaptation of one of my favorite books. I fucking love Bret Easton Ellis.

  • there's a book of this movie dude and i know it now lol is it called the same cuz now i sooo wanna read it lol xD

  • I have no idea what this movies about. :)

  • get the dvd copy. carrot top does the audio commentary. epic lulz.

  • lol finished the book about 2 weeks ago. its brilliant, really gives you the feel of the campus and the surroundings and their student life. its fucking awsome of who in detail bret gets with the awkward moments and honesty of social events and gatherings

  • YES! I read the book over the summer.

I loved hearing the different perceptions of people from different points of view.

And how something perceived to be a deep moment (sean thinking lauren is "so touched" when she cries as he plays guitar)

really is something else (it reminded her of victor)

  • i love how sean miss hears what paul says casadia. lol shaun thinks he offerd to buy a case of beer. great book love the bit when shaun wants to die lol its like watching a kid in a strop

  • the suicide parts for me are a bit much. i know it's a really serious thing and it makes you think, but i don't like the thought that something could be so bad that you would want to end you're life.

really amazing film though, i love victors trip of europe.

  • reading the book and so far its fucing great the only problem is that you need to havefull focus cause you have to keep in mind of all the reccuring character and it can be quite a handfull

  • I Love this sonnggg ! It makes me happy hahah <3

  • tune

  • what i dont get is that stalker girl... but i dont want to give away the movie so i wont finish this comment lol nvm epic fail

I LIKE THE MUSIC IN THE MOVIE. EVERY SONG

  • what don't you get?

  • The movie is so ambigious, but that's what makes it so great, my all time favourite-it's such a classic, and James Van Der Beek <33

  • You're shit.

  • Very cute and clever. Just like the song-- confused about love in a matter-of-fact way.

  • <333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333i love this<333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333

  • The movie is actually pretty good, Roger Avary is a very talented guy. Nice soundtrack !

  • its ashame this is the only version of this song i can find on youtube. Lets face it, the song is awesome and this movie is shit

  • The movie is pretty good!

  • what did you like about it?

  • Not sure, it looks like the average teen movie but it's just full of surprises...and morons. Reminds me of when I was younger.

  • Why do you think the movie is shit?

  • im watching the movie right now. i want to read the book soon. currently reading Party Monster...also an excellent film.

  • great movie

  • i love the song but i still dont see why they chose james van der beek to play sean bateman.

  • personally i think he did a pretty good job. convinced me enough to hate him in the movie.

  • this vid don't make the song justice

  • LOVE the book. It's actually my favourite Ellis novel but then again, it's the first one I read so I might be kinda biased towards it. XD

  • Its also the 1st one he wrote, a age 18!

  • Didn't he write Less Than Zero before TROA? idk :)

  • yeah i think he wrote Less Than Zero, which i think was better than rules of attraction

  • @krisfaun Yeah he actually wrote Less Than Zero when he was about 19-20

  • @SuperModelVogue Less That Zero was B.E.E's first novel. :)

  • i haven't seen the movie but from the many clips i have seen on youtube it seems as though the movie makes the book a lot more "prettier" for lack of a better word. the book doesn't glamorize all the things these kids do. the movie makes it seem fun. the book seems to be a lot more tragic. maybe, im wrong.

  • This song made my Summer in the year 1991.I met this Irish girl called Sinead

I liked the NWA album, plus The Head on The Door and The Rolling Stones

im then read Stephen King's " Diff'rent Seasons on the way home back from Spain and my life was changed forever

  • I am trying to find out the name of the song that was playing at the "dressed to get fucked party" in the movie. Does anyone know what it is?

  • it was a foreign song right?

  • it's called "Sein Dein Eigener Held" and is performed by the German hip-hop group "Der Wolf".

  • That one's called "When I get you alone" and it's by Robin Thicke.

  • @dollyyozzo the baby giiirl where you at, got my blah blah heart attack?

or whatever it is? with the guys pointy nose bobbing?

I have found it before but I forget who it is. Some pop guy. the music vid is him riding a bike through new york.

  • @Amitron17 Robin Thicke - When I Get You Alone MUSIC VIDEO That's the song :)

  • @dollyyozzo wait i just remembered. When I get you alone - Robin thicke

If that's the song you're looking for.

  • @dollyyozzo OMG! I NEED that song! It's great, someoneplz answer? :D

  • @dollyyozzo

Robin thicke- when I get you alone. This was 2 years ago. Hope you found out the name of the song by now.

  • Comment removed

  • @dollyyozzo it´s called "sei dein eigener held" by "the wolf"....if you mean the german song at the beginning of the party...

  • Comment removed

  • @dollyyozzo when I get you alone...Thicke

  • @dollyyozzo when i get you alone by robin thicke.. sorry its so late of a response lol

  • @dollyyozzo The song is called either Sei Sein Eigener Held or Sei Dein Eigener Held, it's on youtube as the first one.

  • i have this movie its cool i like the song alot!

  • hey whats the name of the book of this movie ??

  • The Rules of Attraction

  • By Bret Easton Ellis !

  • Love the book, love the movie, love ht song

  • Anyone whos read the book notice all the extra little bits you catch that you didnt before you read it? Its the same way with American Psycho, reading the book adds the to movie experience

  • it kinda does, but also takes away from the ideas and lessons you learn from hearing the story from the book.

i think the meaning of the stories got lost through the adaptation.

and i didn't like how they merged some of the parts into other characters.

  • I know what your saying and completely agree. But in ROA theres little things that nobody would get unless they've read the book. Mitchell freakin out on Paul. Paul and Laura at the end especially. The part towards the end where it shows stills of Sean & Paul making angry faces and Laura looking hurt really hit me after I read the book, I thought it was tryin to show how they both hurt her.

  • Totally-- I just watched them both (AmerPsy and RoA) back to back today and noticed so many little clues that seem there just for people who read the books. The "This is Not an Exit" sign at the end of American Psycho (which thrilled me half to death) and Sean mentioning Patrick and lying about his summer (which you wouldn't realize was a lie w/out the book). All wonderful stuff!

  • that sucks!...thnx though

  • hi anyone here can tell me if james and Shannyn Sossamon ended up together in the movie?

  • they did not. the characters in the story do not follow the normal rules of attraction, and so you can kind of predict that no one ends up with anyone. tragic

  • great movie, but the book is even better

  • i totally agree

  • i love this song.

  • exellent movie
