@TheMetalHeaD256 He's putting his thumb and index finger in the shape you would as if he had a pick. I do that a lot if I don't have a pick in my pocket.
Yeah, made in Mexico, but I love mine nonetheless: Sounds and plays perfectly fine to me. Switched the stock bridge humbucker for a JB and its perfect for what I do.
Why did fender stop building classic teles and strats everybody can afford ? All they build now is full of shit like, s-1 switches, scn soulless pickups, 6 saddle bridges on teles(!!!) ugly finishes, thin and bright coloured necks, they even ruined the tremolo ... "Relic" guitars - why the fuck would i pay someones ass to fuck up my guitar. I mean if you´re a complete idiot with too much money - ok. But is it possible to get an QUALITY old spect Fender for A FAIR price ? I don´t think so...
@Oudl3000 Thats not true in the least bit. According to the 1968 fender catalog the strat costed roughly 320 bucks, $314.50 if you want exact. Using a couple inflation calculators i get roughly $2,000 bucks per guitar. Which isn't that far of by todays standards. a 1960s catalog has a strat in it for $289.50 with todays inflation you get a value of around $1,800. Which again is pretty much the same price you pay for a quality strat today.
This guitar in exactly the same finish and hardware, but as an SSS or HSS option, now I would salivate over that. Since my other two guitars already have humbuckers, I don't know if buying another one, a Fender at that, would be justifiable.
@DavidRayT I tend to tuck my pick under my finger when I'm not using it and take it out when necessary - I play with both picks and fingers - but thanks for the advice, I'll be giving it a go :)
Bought it! All based on this vid and the humbucker/ 5- way switch option. Oh and the black on black pickguard looks badass on that sunburst finish! Can't wait, thanks.
I know it's not fair to all the great bands and players that use them, but Strats with humbuckers just remind me of the awful metal bands in high school.
@Porly62 From what I see, the blacktop has 22 frets, a rosewood fingerboard, different pickups, and amp knobs. I like the Blacktop better, especially in all black.
@Porly62 - The FSR Limited Editions are short runs, only available in limited quantities, and often come in non-standard finishes like this Strat's Metallic 3-Tone Sunburst. The Blacktop Series are standard production models with standard finishes, and they have different pickups and knobs than this FSR Strat. Please reference our website for complete specs on both instruments. Thanks for watching!
@cjdavda I very much agree but because I love the feel of a Strat, I would like to have at least 1 with humbuckers but probably an HSH configuration because Strat's mid pickup position is probably my favorite.
looks like my squier bullet HH

@Oudl3000 Wouldn't want to feed the troll, but this one is outrageous.
SCN and S-1 switching are both only in the deluxe sector, nowhere else. And SCN is already deprecated, only found on old guitars.
There are _lots_ of telecasters with brass 3-saddles. American Special, take a look.
Vintage tremolos are still available on pretty much everything.
And there are old-spec "vintage" series for an okay price. Just try to look.

So Andy, would you care to explain how you managed that pinched harmonic with your THUMB?
Paweljarski 1 year ago
@Paweljarski I can do them, it's not too hard. Idk how to explain it, but I can try.
Instead of using the the side of your thumb towards the tip, use the area right behind your nail. You really just have to find what works for you.
