He was all around talent and as seasoned as one could appear from early in his career. He also was a taller longer armed guy, but the biggest difference is in the footwork and movement quality. It's a big difference between the fighters, he will never be FM, but that's not a bad thing... he can just be Gary Russel Jr. and that could be great.
A pure boxer is a guy that looks good jabbing has great defense and speed with effortless fundamentals which are not necessarily including power or counterpunching skills or ability to field blows when hit.
8 wins 12 losses? Vs a prospect? 8-0? In the UK a prospect is like 20-0 holding a European belt British belt and Commonwealth. Please don't hype the guy up like you did Victor Ortiz.

Rodrigo Aranda was an amazing prospect in his younger years and is a very seasoned veteran boxer. Russell is one of the all-time best up and comers, so hats off to Aranda too!
