  • OMG! you are so cute! :O

  • Hi wemissreadingrainbow, I red the book probably two years ago. I dont think that you necessarily have to be interested in teaching to enjoy the book. The positive thing I still remember from that book is, the way he describes the situation in school, especially his own and along with that the ways he successfully tried to cope with all the folks there.

  • But if you have already red Angelas Ashes and especially Tis, it is not necessary to read also this book. You can read most of the things described in Teacher man in his earlier book Tis. But despite the fact that Teacher man did not led to some stunning new information I enjoyed the book cause I love the extraordinary way in that McCourt writes and furthermore the way he got through all this difficulties is quite amazing.

  • . I think there is a new book isnt it? Well, I think Ill gonna buy it ;-)

    Cheers

    Max

  • i have she's come undone by wally lamb.

but im reading 13 little blue envelopes by maureen johnson and then let it snow by john green maureen johnson and lauren myracle firstt.

  • ooh! i'm reading let it snow soon!!!

  • ...what if you are interested in learning and how we learn?

  • Have you read Angela's Ashes by Mccourt?

It's a very very good book.

I found his writing style strange, yet refreshing.

  • i haven't read it yet, but i've heard a million great things about it. i also very much liked his writing style. it's comfortable, i'd say, easy for people to read!

  • exactly. Are you going to review that one as well?

  • if i read it then i definitely will! i review every book i read, even if i don't like them. that way interested readers can judge whether or not to spend their time on a book by what others think. that's one of the reasons why i think it's so important for you guys to review them as well, then upload them in response to mine. that way it can be a more fair impression of a story.

  • Sweet!

Yes, this is definitely one of my favorite channels. :)

All right, I will attempt a review when I finish the next book I read then!

  • yay! awesome! cool! haha...i'm gonna hold you to it! ;)

  • haha right right!

  • My original goal this summer of no job was to read all of the books that I own and haven't touched, but this is a much better motivator. 1984 has been on my to do list for ages, I actually bought the commemorative 1984 edition of 1984 with a preface by Walter Cronkite at a small bookstore for a dollar or two and it was coming up on my things to read. To reiterate others, Angela's Ashes was really good as I remember, a really fine autobiography. She's Come Undone reminds me of the Guess Who =]

  • hehe, i'm glad you're going to get a chance to read! make sure you watch our coming-soon video with the rules to our summer book list competition!

  • my two books for this summar

    enders game

    and hoot

    im reading them for school

  • yay! those both seem so great!

  • I don't know if you would like it, but I suggest that you read 'The Eye of the World' by Robert Jordan.

and btw, I love the wemissreadingrainbow channel

  • hehe, thank you! we all love you, as well!

i'll add that suggestion to our suggestion box! thank youuu :D

  • This sounds like a great project I am totally up for it!

1984 was such a great book and I actually wanted to read She's Come Undone.

  • perfect! all you have to do now is review them. then, of course, check out everyone else's book choices!

  • Where can I find them? I haven't seen them up yet.

  • yeah, i think i'm the only one who's uploaded my choices so far, haha...i'm ahead of the game. they should be up soon!

  • Good to hear!

  • yeah, just keep watchin' ;)

  • You'ld look great with perhaps a single diamond dangling from your neck, btw... :)

But... Great choice with 1984 (left me like 'wow' back in the early 90s).

And I can't help but imagine what the world would be like if more 'teachers' would get into leadership political service. No more lawyers!!! :D Make the lawyers do 2-3 yrs of teaching service before they can practice - noooo!!!

Anyway, you'ld make a superbable teacher if you went that route young lady.

    Have a great summer.

  • thanks, but i don't have very much jewelry...

i'm glad you like my choice :]

i agree about teachers in politics, but i have a hard enough time making myself stay on track with what's happening currently. i'd have an even harder time acting as it was my profession. also, almost all teachers are liberal anyway so it would be pretty biased.

    but i don't disagree :]

  • Great project! I'll see if I can do it.

  • i really hope you can :]

  • I <3 1984 ive read it three time haha

Ill definitely be doing the summer booklist challenge on my second channel :D

  • woohoo! you're awesome. good taste, my friend.

start with that review if you want!!!

  • oooh, special present!

  • yes, yes! & all you have to do is read! there's no better competition for book worms like us :p

  • Oddly enough, I've gotten half way through each of your books. I have a problem with finishing books unless it really, really strikes my fancy. I'm halfway through a lot of classics. I'll work on 1984 this summer though!

I like the book circulation idea! I'll get reading. :)

  • haha, that's what i tend to do, too. i've only recently gotten down to it & started finishing most of the books that i read! so i don't blame you in the least!

& as for your participation in the summer book list: -enter fist up here-

  • i'd suggest angela's ashes by frank mccourt. it's a really good look into his life.

    sara

  • yes, that's what i've heard! thank you for the suggestion :] i'll put it in the box!

  • Sweet this is so exciting hahaha im most likely going to do it

  • YAY! that's what i like to hear :]

  • The chair Rocks! And the summer book list is an awesome idea.

  • yeah! i got really excited about it, too. sooo comfy! [& dangerously fun].

thanks! i hope you participate in the book list!!!

  • Mcourt is great . Ashes is a great great book.

  • i've yet to read it, but it sounds awesome! i like his writing style a lot, it's simple, funny, but so beautiful at parts.

  • frank mccourt is the shizZ!!

  • yeahhh, i agreee!

  • i saw him get interviewed once and hes like this little Irish man. it was crazy how like down to earth he seemed

  • yeah, he didn't become an author until just recently! compared to most authors he got an incredibly late start. must keep him real :]

  • this is why i love you :)

and omg... i sooo wish i was part of your little book club!! i might just make my own little one haha.. xxx

  • or reply to ours! pleasssse! we want video responses!

  • oh right okayy then :D

i shall see which book im gonna do.. and then let you know :) hehe xx

  • perfect!

  • That is such a cool idea, Julia! Heehee. :]

  • :D THANKS!

  • As far as beachside books goes, do you have any parameters? I normally don't read things that are too dense (hard to read, because it is hard to concentrate in the sun) or has an embarrasing desk jacket.

  • yeah, i agree. what i did was i thought about books that i've read beach side. what happens quite often is i start a book in the summer, but never finish it because i just can't quite get into it, so i picked two books that kept my attention during the summer!

  • this was very interesting, julia!

and by the way, you're hysterical=D

  • haha, thank you! that means quite a bit coming from you, my dear!
