i am so happy to see this video, I am from Trinidad in the west Indies and of east Indian decent but live in the USA, My dream is to visit my mother country. I would really like to know all about the cultures, I know its alot like our culture in Trinidad. My Grandmother Never got comfortable living in Trinidad and had dreams off returning home one day, she passed way couldn't make that dream happen. I share her dream and will visit her country.

@merchette14 this is 1% of indian cuisine, there is sooooo much variety you should go to kerela, rent a boat on the back wates and eat south indian food or go to Meghalaya and eat east indian, it is like two different worlds...you won't even feel it is in the same country.

The cousins showing the place do not seem to be fully familiar with Maharashtrian culture. People do NOT eat pithala bhakari just because it is cheap. In fact it is not always cheap. And what she implies is no rich man eats this food. May be these girls do not have taste buds developed for it or may it is not particularly good that particular place but pithala bhakari for me and many maharashtrians is absolutely delicious.

From my experiences at India, that dish probably costs half a USD, which is 22.50 Rs. Oh yeah, at 4:50, she mentions that she is Malayalee and that she's not familiar with Islamic culture. Is this woman living in a hole? Kerala, where Malayalam is spoken, has a 20%+ Islamic population!

If you are grown up in Maharashtra and especially in Mumbai, you would know that there used to be a scheme by maharashtra government which provided Zunka Bhakar for 1 rupees. The scheme proved out to be big scam but nonetheless you can still get zunka bhakar for like 2 or 3 rupees in several places in Mumbai and in Pune. Ms Gopalan says 20 cents which amounts to 8-10 rupees.
