Homebirth, with a normal healthy pregnancy is usually a great option for mothers, BUT unassisted HBAC is dangerous. There is a 1% chance with VBAC that the uterus will rupture. This happened to my sister, being in the hospital saver her but her baby died. There is a 1% chance a HBAC will result in a ruptured uterus. And wher this happens you have MINUTES to get a C sections before you or your child DIE!!!!! Congratulations or your baby but this was irrisponsible. I don't want more babies dying.
@gabbb432 Thank you for your comment and concern and I am very sorry to hear about your sister's experience. While these statistics are true, major abdominal surgery also has a fatality rate for both mother and child. Multiple c-sections is in no way safer than having a vbac or hbac especially if the mother is healthy and educated. There are always variables, but birth is not a medical process and in some ways it is irresponsible to walk into a hospital filled with illness if you are healthy.
@gabbb432 That one percent change includes births that are induced, which makes rupture on a scarred uterus far more likely. If the labor is allowed to progress normally, the risk of rupture is nearly as low for VBACs as for anyone else.

Thank you so much. It really depends on the state and city in which you reside. We were able to fill out the form and the witness had to sign or fill out information as well, we took our daughter to the pediatrician who did her check up and brought that paperwork as well. I don't remember do much else, but I know it can be a little more tasking in some areas.
While the whole idea of this is wonderful and perfect, it is also very dangerous. One of my cousin's, who was also one of my closest friends, bought into the home birth natural craze and she ended up dying from hemorrhaging while she was in the ambulance. Now her two children have no mother and her husband is a widower and if she had been in a hospital they could have saved her life. People talk about having a baby like it is so easy when it is dangerous and things can go seriously wrong.
Thanks for the encouragement! First was natural at birth center 9 lbs 9 oz. Second lost health coverage and ended up at hospital... they didn't let me change positions... c-section 9 lbs. 9 oz, 2 wks early. With this one.. I considering going unassisted. I never want to be in a hospital again!!! Fabulous to see you had a wonderful VBAC!
wow, those are some healthy babies you delivered and I cannot believe the second child was over 9 lbs and 2 weeks early, what a blessing. Please let me know where you are in your pregnancy or after birth. Peace
You video was empowering! I am preparing for an unassisted homebirth with my husband anyday now! Pray for us to be strenghthened! By the way, how many week were you when she was born?
Thank you for the compliment. I was about 41 weeks when she was born, her due date was January 28th. She was 9 lbs. We get great joy from people telling us that we have inspired them. That's what its all about. Blessings to you and your growing family. Peace.
what a beautiful baby!! how much did he/she weigh? i always wanted to go natural but i have a very low tolerance for pain, and my last two preganices were c-sections because i stop dilating
You have such a beautiful family and seeing your beautiful faces on youtube will encourage other brothers and sisters to take the birthing process in their own hands when it is safe to do so. There are numerous reports of complications (emergency C sections) in hospitals due to drugs that are meant to speed up the labor process or reduce pain. Thank you very much for posting this video!
I smile so much, it is amazing. Thank you for the comment. I don't think we knew we would inspire so many. It is important that brothers and sisters see this and know what a wonderful gift we possess. Our goal is to keep sharing, so thank you for your encouragement. And please pass it on, breast feeding is hot, lol.
Wow, you have inspired me to look further into unassisted vbac. I'm in ATL and so far theres only one great doc who supports vbacs but he has mixed reviews. Although his repeat c-sections are in the single digits, I keep hear consistently that the wait is very long for his services. Then I got the "crazy idea" to just wait out my active labor as long as possible. Then that idea tranformed into just have my baby at home. At any rate you have a lovely family and I wish you guys all the best
Peace and thank you for the compliment. I do strongly suggest that you speak with someone before waiting out your active labor and also have a plan no matter what you decide to do after consulting with a midwife or gynecologist. If I can be of any help just send me a message. Congratulations on your growing family.
I pray that my husband and I will be similar at some point. My blood pressure acts up real bad at the end of the pregnancy...do y'all still think home birth could be an option? I just had #3, 2 months early but doing very well. He was my first natural, VBAC...I do not know when we will have other children but... homebirth is what I'm about lol. Shalom and thank you so for your video!
Thank you so much for the comment, it was an amazing experience. May I ask what kind of diet you have or have had during your pregnancies? Home birth can be an option but you have to discuss your prior pregnancies with a midwife and figure out if home would be the best place to deliver your next child. Depending on your location, I maybe able to give you a referral and we can keep in touch whatever you and your husband decide.
My diet? Biblically kosher -- no pork, no shellfish. We're near Dallas, in Texas. So anything in the metroplex would be great! It will be a few years I think, before we have another, but I'd love the info. My friends are having babies all the time, so... thanks so much!
You have a beautiful family. My husband and I are currently thinking about starting a family. I plan to have a home birth also it just comes naturally.
Thank you for the compliment, it was truly amazing. Besides our beautiful children, we are doing other great things in the world ... take a look at the Living Well Community video on this channel and the video on my channel.
this was very enlightening and thank you for sharing. I am considering a VBAC. I felt cheated and robbed of a part of life that God has blessed us with.
I've had 1 c-sec,(2cd child) and 2 epidurals, 3 natural, drug free. My youngest was a home unassisted birth. This time around I think I will go unassisted at home provided all is well. For your first VBAC, if you are low risk, you may be able to find a midwife who will assist you. Other than that you should find an OB who will support you. Sometimes OB's just want to get it over with and get more money for the surgery. steer clear of them.
"Sometimes OB's just want to get it over with and get more money for the surgery" this is how i felt with my twins and I felt if i was a little more aggressive, I could have had the twins naturally instead of having a c-section. I really disliked the epidural and how i felt after. Blessings to you and your growing family.
Thats was beautiful and congrats on the beautiful baby! I am planning an unassisted VBAC in December and your video was very empowering for me. Thank you. :)
You have a beautiful family! It's nice to see some people of color having their little ones in the security and comfort of their own homes. Blessings!
That is the best way. OB's have really made birth women dependent on medicine and it's so
ridiculus. Before hospitals women always assisted women at home in delivering babies. OB's begin a lot of "just in case" interventions and make less natural. For instance, it is normal for heart decelerations, during contractions.Lie in bed, strapped 2 monitors, get IV, no drink or food, internal fetal monitor on baby scalp, can make for a scared mom and baby and can decelerate the heart beat. Now CSECTION!
the csection rate is increasing and it is so sad because many parents seem uninformed and some are deciding when they want to give birth ... society has got to slow down and stop trying to control nature.
