When I heard that Paula Goodman had committed suicide, my heart sank. It's just this strange sadness that I feel right now. She did not need to be ridiculed and I felt that she was wonderful and tried her best.

It is really worrying the affect reality tv and harsh comments and public ridicule can have only some, particularly if they're already vulnerable. It does American TV seems harsher. I can't remember a time on British TV Simon has made a comment about someone's appearance like this, but maybe he's learnt a bit from it.

In retrospect these comments the judges made seem very cruel. This poor woman already must have been manic depressive and unstable. And this just pushed her over the edge. Still, in this life you have to be strong enough to deal with your haters. But she was foolish to take her like over a singing competition. And no, she couldn't sing.

Simon and Randy really have hurt some people with their comments and it effects those who are dealing with issues/problems even more. I wish this girl could've auditioned on another show...Aside from that, I wish she had gotten the help that she needed. I had a friend who commited suicide. Someone was mean towards him (in his depressed state of mind) and he just took his life one day. I wish he had talked to someone...but he told noone of course, he just did it.
