A full size animatronic Joe was used in close ups with the actors, a CGI Joe was used for wider running shots or for more complicated actions that couldn't be done for real 7:58 - 8:22, but Joe was mostly done with a man in a gorilla suit 5:58 - 7:10. All these effects were designed by Special Effects Gorilla Master RICK BAKER, best known for his work on (Gorillas In The Mist, and of course, he played KING KONG in the 1976 remake)

Yes, it is better that we should leave animals in the wild, however if the animal is at risk of say extinction, then maybe it is for the best that at least a few of them are kept somewhere, where they can be protected against those that would hurt them. However, I don't believe in caging a animal like they do to joe in this movie, they should be in a place that is best for them, such as an environoment built for them.

I went and saw this movie wih my dad and my cousin Al when it came out! I was 8 years old and I loved it! Bill Paxton did a fantastic job playing Gregg O'Hara. The actor who played Gregg O'Hara in the originial 1949 movie was Ben Johnson who played Hank Murphy the owner of the Angels in DISNEY ANGELS IN THE OUTFIELD!

the hunters or poachers werent only goin 4 joe. dey were also after all the other gorillaz. yes disney movies shouldnt have killings in it, but on the other hand it should only some movies to teach responsibility for ones self. This movie is teaching responsibility cuz the girl took place of her mom when the mother died. So her primary goal was to get joe a safe place to stay at and run free around, and shes responsible for that.
