Ive read his biography and ALL his drunk appearances on chat shows (with the exception of the late night one i beleive) were put on by Ollie at the request of producers...the man was an awesome actor!
oliver reed ,,,,,,,,,,,,legend... in his own yardglass,,imagine the sessions with him and keith moon ...does anyone know which song he was attepting to sing on aspel???
@MrRyanYounger of course it isn't. i work just a minutes' walk (if it even takes a minute) from it. actually ollie's death in the bar was the best thing that happened to the owner. it's much more popular now. but like you said and i gladly confirm...it never was a lowly slum.
@avdad2000 Oliver Reed did nt so much control his demons as defy them to keep up. The man was a classic roisterer the likes of which we will probably never see again, Russel Crowe notwithstanding. For all the Hell he raised all who knew him are unanimous in saying that he was a sweet, sensitive soul with an enormous heart, and the myriad friends he made miss him deeply.
if you were in a pub trying to enjoy your evening and a fat, bloated drunk behaved like that would you clap? so why are ppl saying oliver is great on this page? he was a so-so actor who became a pain, his career went down the pan and he became a joke, as for sam fox, talentless and nasty, no wonder even after the recent IACGMOOH failed to revive her,,,what can she offer us????
Geez, get a sense of humor. Why would you go to a pub and not expect to see drunk people?
Not only that, I think Ollie was in on the joke; I don't believe he thought that he was giving this amazing performance. He was just being silly and having fun; what's wrong with that?
yeah, the jokes on him, but you say one thing wrong and he turns on you, a drunk becomes a bore too when its everytime they drink,,,,, i have a fantastic sense of humour, i have been drunk and been with drunks, but i find aggressive, self centred , overbearing drunks dont care if they ruin your evening as long as they get all the attention "look at me, look at me or i might hit you " attutude, i dont think he realised what a "joke" he had become, he thought he really was clever! very sad infact
Well, to be fair, he was on TV and not in a pub. Plus, I don't get the "look at me or I might hit you" vibe from him, but I could be wrong. You could be wrong, also; it's not as if we actually knew him. But I suppose everyone has an opinion.
during the making of the three musketeers, the cast avoided him between shooting and after as he would be drunk and quite forceful ,making others join him regardless that they didnt want to, he even throw himself on their car bonnets to prevent them leaving, which to me seems a tad aggressive tactic,,he didnt amuse me with his "amusing" drunk behaviour, he looked sad and unhappy deep down but an unpleasant bore on the surface, everyone walking on egg shells avoiding a confrontation.
still a carpet muncher... i saw her gf on celebrity get me out of here.... i don't think it's carpet she will be munching though, more like a brillo pad... her gf was as rough as a bears arse...
What a blinkered world you must live in where your little scrabble of knowledge gives you the right to deem other people 'brabarians'. Get over yourself you pompous arsehole.
Hahahaha Frograss, your " Being 'fluent' in a number of languages is not an excuse to be a cunt" had me laughing out loud at work...people looked at me all funny. Hilarious

@LoveShock2 @LoveShock2 He actually died in Malta. I had family who were there at the time, also I wouldn't quite call the bar a lowly slum.
