@Agelesslegend23 i had this problem with my dog , the most important thing i learn about dog training you should never reward a dog for something you dont accept
exmp : if he is jumping on you when you are about to give him some food do not give it to him until he calms down just wait and stay calm dont talk to him if you calm down dog ll calm down faster , when he calms down bring the food through his nose if he use teeth on your hand to take it just dont let him take it and pull back
@Agelesslegend23 then try again until he tries to take it gently , another way you can teach your a ''wrong'' sound , i say ''shhh'' when he does something that i dont want , this makes everything alot faster he understands he did something wrong need to try again ( you dont need to say ''shhh'' you can use ''no'' or whatever im just used to that sound.
one more way is to teach the dog ''off'' command ''off'' means let it go , take a hand full of food in your hand and bring it close to his nose
@Agelesslegend23 he ll lick , bite your hand , dont open your fist and just wait until he gives up when he gives up give him one piece , do it few times then add ''off'' command , he ll catch this command very fast less than 5 mins he ll learn and it is very useful not only for food but when they bite the clothes , shoes .... you can use ''off''
thanks for the vid, my dog learnt this very quickly but i cant get him to stay in the position for more than a second, he thinks that 'wait' means sit and wait (my fault} any tips on how to get him to hold the position? thanks
Hey! I love what you have been able to achieve with your dog! After watching a few of your agility and clicker training vids, i went out yesterday and bought a clicker.
I tought my 2yo female Doberman this trick using your method today, and she knows it off by heart now! only took us 10 minutes! :D So thanks for the help! ...
I taught my dog how to do this by using my coffee table, and puting the treat under the table so she would get in the bow position to get the treat, then I would C&T, and if she would hold the position, she would get C&T for holding. :)
Great video! Honey is really lucky to have you. I would love to teach our dog this trick. I sometimes click too early/late too & loved how you showed that in your video :) Honey looks so sweet!
your video worked for My little Nova. she is 10 week old great dane. This took the longest for her to teach so far.. but now she has it! it took three days!

This is a very helpful video - I have a 5 month old rat terrier/dach mix and he figured out the basics in about 20 mins! Yay for clicker training :)
