Now, I didn't always hate dear Eddie, mind you. Like any straight, red-blooded teenaged girl, I was immediatly 'dazzled' by the sheer greatness of him. He is, after all, ever girl's dream guy isn't he; he's also so perfect and so sickingly sweet that it makes my teeth ache. In my opinion, he is the epitome of a Gary-stu with absolutely no faults to speak of (besides this 'stalker' thing that can easily be written off as sweet). Perfection gets extremely old.
A very good point. Take in mind, though, that the story is being written from Bella's perspective, and since she is so "dazzled" by him, the reader has no real way of knowing that he has any faults because all she sees, and explains, is his perfection. He is pretty sweet, though, and I can see how too much of that could get on any girl's nerves.

Wow, I almost forgot I wrote this.
Now, I didn't always hate dear Eddie, mind you. Like any straight, red-blooded teenaged girl, I was immediatly 'dazzled' by the sheer greatness of him. He is, after all, ever girl's dream guy isn't he; he's also so perfect and so sickingly sweet that it makes my teeth ache. In my opinion, he is the epitome of a Gary-stu with absolutely no faults to speak of (besides this 'stalker' thing that can easily be written off as sweet). Perfection gets extremely old.

A very good point. Take in mind, though, that the story is being written from Bella's perspective, and since she is so "dazzled" by him, the reader has no real way of knowing that he has any faults because all she sees, and explains, is his perfection. He is pretty sweet, though, and I can see how too much of that could get on any girl's nerves.
